When someone says they're staying at the HDR, does everyone in San Jose assume they are there for mongering? Or do people sometimes stay there just because they want to see CR? Do families or women ever (accidentally) wind up at the HDR?

Thanks very much for your help.

I have seen couples strolling in with their luggage once or twice. There is usually a look on their faces of "what is going on here". If you see them a few minutes later they have figured it out. The husbands head is on a swivel and the wife looks disgusted

I don't know why she would be disgusted, they have a great buffet around 5:00pm in the Blue Marlin.... :D

I have on occasion seen middle-aged and older couples at the check-in desk. Someone should draw cartoons of them with the following captians

1. (wife speaking)....and if you think you are coming downstairs for a beer after I go to bed,you better think again.

2. (again wife speaking).... and that phucking travel agent is going to hear from me when we get home.

3. (no captian)....just the guy's head spinning around in a 360 degree motion like Howdy Doody taking all the splendor.

Was sitting at the front table last year and in the side door walks mom ,dad ,little si*ter, and brother. I would have given anything for a video camera that footage would have been priceless. there they are standing in line to check in all the suitcases on the floor in front of them the Mom was checking the place out big time. junior and dad were acting if they were at a Holiday in at Myrtle Beach what no big deal dad says.meanwhile mom and little sis are tripping. They get to the counter and the guy at the desk is about to bust. in no time they were loading them all in a taxi and off to a non monger friendly hotel.what could have been dad and juniors best night in CR the truth ruined for them.

I have seen this many times. It's always funny as hell. I've seen "mom" make her "pop" sit on the sofa as other hotel arrangements are made. Meanwhile, 2 teenage sons are standing around grinning from ear to ear and hoping the rest of San Jose is completly booked.
I also once turned a corner upstairs heading towards the elevator only to be run into by a speeding little girl ( 8 years old tops ) who was running loose with her toy doll on the 4th floor.
I always wondered if Taxi drivers take people to HDR if they find them to be annoying.

A couple of years ago I was standing by the 'rail' and this guy came walking by really fast with a fat ass gringa hot on his tail, she was really pissed, kept saying, this is a damn whore house. Poor guy, couldn't get out the door fast enough.
Just this past November, I was sitting at the coffee bar counter when a guy brought his son in the side door, he couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old, the security guy stopped him as soon as he walked in, told him that this was an "adult establishment", guy said his son really needed to go to the bathroom, security guy escorted them to the bathroom then out the door. I can only guess what that guy was thinking as he was walking his son through the place.

It is truly a sight to behold to see Mr. and Mrs. Midwest jaunt into the famous Del Rey and realize they are in a Ho-aahhh House... The gringas always look atrociously ugly too...

Come to think of it, the eco tourists also look pretty damn homely...

Why wouldn't I feel this way... I just spent the last night immersed in phucking, sucking, and degradation with a young hottie less than half my age... And I'm probably on my way to a local MP to repeat the process...

Of course I'm biased.... 8) 8) 8)

I suspect that inocents who book at HDR on line get surprised more often at check in than we know.

The DR is not alone in this. On my trip I saw 2 couples that had booked a room at the SL only to find out what it is really like. But granted the SL is very subdued compared to the DR. The realization of where you are slaps you in the face when you walk in for the first time.
