I'm in the process of booking the Aparthotel Sabana. Why would an aparthotel have anything to say about chicas visiting, much less charge a fee? Would someone please school me before I make an error. I would have thought just the opposite. Its more of an apartment than hotel. Would someone please advise. Thanks OldQDog |

OldQDog I do not understand. ![]() Did the management of the Aparthotel Sabana notify you that chicas are not allowed, or that there is a fee? |

El Ci No I read on this board someone's post that another Aparthotel did not charge a fee. As is there was even a question. If I read to much into it or got paranoid - mea culpa. I just thought I would ask because I never thought that this could be the case. Sorry, if I confused anyone OldQDog |

Old Q. Dog, Okay, confusion alleviated... ![]() I think that in the cse of apartments and/or aparthotels, your business will remain your business, until and if you piss off your neighbors. For instance, if you're parading scantily-clad women past a neighbor family with small Ch*ldren, or if your noisy sex keeps neighbors awake, then it's a problem. I think we should all remember that while prostitution in Costa Rica is legal and for the most part tolerated, it is not avidly accepted or embraced by the entire population. I have actually met more born-again Christians and devout Catholics per capita than I've ever met in the Bible Belt here in the States. Ticos tend to be more conservative than the Gultch would lead one to believe. |

Love the place. Stayed there 20 times. Quiet, pool, free bk, little kitchens, laundry machines and iron/board available, internet available for a fee, 15 minutes to the epi-center, and nice people. But it is not a party type place, dead quiet by 9-10, alot of Euro's, families, and I think owned by Chino's--but run by Tico's. I usually rent a car and so when I get back, you have to beep to get the nite guard to open the parking gate. He doesn't know if she belongs or not and doesn't care--but I always tip him. If you don't have a car, they lock the front door at 8 or 9 so the nite manager will let you in. Still never had a problem, but I always maintained decorum. Tip him, too, preferably the first time you see him and not when this encounter occurs. Remember, they are going to have to call a cab for her when she leaves and let her out. If you are going to be cabbing it, bring the hotel's business cards to show the cabbie the tico address--alot of them don't know the place and will go round and round the parque la sabana and if your drunk you won't know what the heck he's doing. If you do forget, when you get to the Mc Donald's there by the RR tracks, tell him to turn right onto that access road there and the hotel is on a side street I think about 1 mile down--best to bring their biz card. |

I used to stay at el Sesteo years ago. A google search got me lots of hotel hookup companies giving info about Aparthotel Sabana, but no official website. (It is probably on the 10th google page since they didn't do the chorizo.) I'm happy with Hotel Castillo unless it changes too much, but am interested in keeping track of other places. With all of the action in Paseo Colon, this part of town is more attractive than it was 5-6 years ago. The action was probably there, but I didn't know about any of it after Taipan closed. I walked into Vilma once about 6 years ago, but that was the extent. Do they have an official site? |

You got me confused. The question was about Aparthotel Sabana which is in Sabana Norte. You are describing the Aparthotel El Sesteo which is in Sabana Sur. |

No guys, I just didn't explain it well. We all know El Sesteo is alot closer to the McDonald's than is LaSabana Apartotel. One: Google results not popping up because it is LaSabana Apartotel, not Aparthotel, no H. It's there. Two: El Sesteo is not nearly as nice or quiet as LaSabana IMHO. Three: Bring the hotel biz card for the cabbies. Sorry for the confusion. |
