Post subject:  American Airlines SUCKS (part 2)

just adding a sequel to DonGordo's first post about AA. It didn't effect me but I got on my 5:15 flight today to FLL from SJO and all everyone was talking about was the cancellations.

I got to the airport early, asked to move my seat to a window exit row and got lucky so I am thinking American Airlines is great.

Well apparently, yesterday, the morning flight going into MIA was postponed 3 times until finally it was cancelled. Half the people on the FLL flight today were supposed to be going to MIA yesterday but just took the first thing they could to get back to the states. The guy behind me was renting a car at 9:30 at night to go to Sarasota. 2 guys from Montreal were going to a hotel in FLL only to leave in the morning.

All of a sudden, Spirit aint sounding so bad.

Just curious if anyone on this board got shafted by AA.

KL Andy,

I flew AA my last few trips and it was smoothe sailing. My buddy flew that SJO-MIA on Sunday and it was cancelled also. I also had someone else tell me about a cxl on that route. So, this must be common. I do like their planes and service better. Plus, their gate out of FLL is nicer. That being said, Spirit has better flight times. Now, if they would only fly direct from Fl.'s west coast.

Andy, let's talk about something important and it's been suggested you are the authority. What's the deal with that hottie Dianna from the front bar? Does she play?

PURA VIDA!

I flew AA this past Thursday from Miami to CR. Flight left right on time, landed on time. Yesterday, flew back to Miami from CR. Flight left on time, landed in MIA 15 mins early. No problems whatsoever.

Every airline has bad days. Some, more than other.....

MG. I agree with you. Good days and Bad days. Hope I don't jinx myself but I have had no problems to date with either Spirit or AA out of South Florida

CC - first of all, by no means an authority. Just got a lucky a couple of times with them. I was talking to Diana on Thursday (Damn she looked good). She was working with Natalia (Not bad as well). I have to tell you, from what I know, Diana does not offer up any xtra-curricular activities. She actually is so damn nice as well, I would never even ask.

With that being said, give it a try and let us all know. I am definitily curious. Sorry no help

I always seem to pick the "bad days" when flying American...maybe that's why I stopped using them. It seems I have better luck picking the "good days" on USAIRWAYS and Continental.

Peace,

I usually fly Continental, but got a better price on AA last time. Sat on the SJO tarmac for close to an hour for departure, missing my connecting flight in Miami as a result.

On the return trip to CR, I made all my connections. None of my luggage did. I received it three days later after being told it would arrive in 24 hours. I couldn't leave my house during that time, as I was being told by the local AA people that it was at that moment out on a van and should be arriving at my door shortly. This went on for three days.

When the bags finally arrived, I noticed, upon unpacking, that various small items (e.g., razor blades and deodorant) were missing.

They couldn't pay me to fly AA again.

The unfortunate fact is, all the US airlines are horrible. So, as much as I would like boycott them all, I have no choice but the fly them. The only time I can make a decision on whether I can fly a US airline or not is international- mostly to Asia. Have you guys flown on Singapore- it would be insulting to them to compare them to the best of the US carriers (if there were such a thing). It is like flying a different civilization! I am at lost as to what to do when I fly domestic- I am not wealthy enough to fly charter and I just don't know what else to but to shut up and put up. Fed up!!!
