On two of five trips to CR I happened to flag down an orange taxi to get BACK to SJO airport from downtown. It didn't occur to me until reading the other recent post about taxi fare FROM the airport but it seems that an orange cab driver would be willing to negotiate the RETURN fare since he is going there anyway with or without a passenger. Maybe, however, the driver has to pay up once he gets to the airport so there isn't that much advantage to him anyway? Of course in that case you could offer him $10 if he'd drop you off at the Sansa terminal or in front of the fire department or bus stop, then he'd return to the terminal solo and have $10 more than he would have anyway. |

Yeah, but what are the chances of finding an orange cab who returning to the airport, not good. |

Well, in my cumulative experience - 40% - and that was without trying. If you stand along Calle Central in the early morning, there are quite a few orange cabs that go by there. |
