It is my understanding that motel eden does fill up on the weekends.

San Francisco de los dos rios ( located next to zapote) is a well known area for motels. There are many in one area. Maybe 15 min from the gulc.

if it is the first weekend of the month, good luck... the place is always full for some reason the first weekend after the 1st.

I personally don't know of another place.

Some Tico paydays are the Friday around the first of the month and the Friday around the fifthteenth of the month. Tico MP's, clubs and bars are very busy those weekends.

Back on Feb. 15th--a Friday--I went to Motel Eden with two chicas (Sleep Inn didn't allow two at a time), and yup, it was full (I quickly figured out why). We went to Motel Las Arcadas instead, it's somewhere near Santo Domingo de Heredia--I saw the sign for INBIO Parque.

I pulled it off kind of

Delayed flights and lost luggage got me to the gulch around 1030 pm trying to figure out when a Eden garage door would be open. I thought of the two types who would likekly use it; the M guy who should be out of there by midnight to get home to the misses and the hookup who will get there when the clubs are closing 2ish so I figured 1 would be the optimum time. the couples getting away are likely all-nighters.

the problem comes in finding a partner for this dance. I was doing my best psuedo-Angry Pirate imitation in trying to get an TLN for 100. bouncing between three chioces I finally struck a deal with an ol favorite
(I like that she can be trusted with no safe in the room)

we had to go down a couple of rows before we found a door open even then the guy was still sanitizing the room from the previous guest

room was nice and has me thinking I might get lesser rooms here in SJ and use the savings to take the special ones to the eden 8)

ps how do you know which rooms have waterfalls, mine didnt

It's written on the little sign inside the garage. If the sign doesn't say that it has a waterfall, leave, and go to the next garage... unless it's the only one, in which case don't give up the room...
