Bump for this. I need to find a decent hotel for Feb. 28th - March 3rd. Preferably near Jaco Fiesta Beach Resort - going to an industry conference there and it's sold out.

I like the Cocal. It's a little far from the BB, but not bad. The first time I was there I had a motorcycle, so I rode that to/from and put the chicas is a cab for about 500 colones. The second time I had a rental car. It's a very short ride, but like many place in Costa Rica, I wouldn't want to walk it at night.

Using the search function would pull up many reviews of Jaco Hotels. I'm partial to the Copa cabana or the Canciones del Mar. Claritas is another less expensive choice as well as the Bohia. All are Chica friendly.

The BB is the best and almost only option in town.

I like the Copa In Jaco. I staid there 3 times, it is right on the beach, BB 5 min walk. CRT discount, good food. If I do Jaco in May I will stay there again.

Looks like the Copa is the winner..

Can I use my CRT discount even though the booking was through Expedia.com?

Hey Fusion,

Just show the receptionist your VIP card when you check in. It will be my third time staying there on March 27th and I really love the place. Nice pool/bar area, right on the beach, very monger friendly, and within walking distance to the BB and MB. I can't wait!

I called the hotel to book a room and mentioned CRT membership, was answered no discounts take it or leave it, so I took it.
By many reports location on the beach, close to BB, & eye candy at the pool bar, should be ok, price is high $115.

I recommend the Copa, too. It seems they don't give any discount in the high season, there have been some other discussions about that on this forum.

I just confirmed 3 nights at the Copa for $109 per night, inclusive, all taxes, etc included. I booked through Expedia. Hopefully they'll allow the CRT VIP. If not, it's ok - this is a business trip :)

Sorry, but I have to disagree with some of you. We were in Jaco beach back in January and stayed at Copa (based on CRT members recommendation). I was disappointed to pay $109+tax for a tiny little room that was not even a 2 star hotel in my opinion. Also, you have to pay $20 for each extra guest.
In addition, the shower did not work....either hot burning water or cold water and no water pressure, lots of mesquitos in the room, there was dog swimming in the pool  , and the front desk folks are not friendly at all.
Next time I will look for another hotel at Jaco.
FYI - That was my first trip to Jaco, so I don't know if other hotels are any better.

My Gang and I stayed at the Copa 2yrs in a row and we are done with that shithole.

1) NO CRT discounts! Eventhough the Canadian booking people said we would get 50% off the guest fee.

2) 1 of the front desk girls has major attitude. Deal with Becky if you can she is a sweet heart.

3) Copa van that transported us from SJ to Jaco had no AC. With 7 chubby buddies it was a hot ride.

4) Showers suck!

5) Noisy! blarring loud music until late at night. Even my Tica complained. Even Noisy after the music stops due to shitty windows and doors. Bring your earplugs.

6) Breakfast is NO longer free. $7 for eggs and beans is an outrage.

7) Check your bill closely they phucked up are bills royally. They Tried to charge us $42 bucks for drinks we never ordered. We checked in with 6 cases of beer so why would of orderd more beer on the 1st nite? They corrected it but it took an Hour to sort out 1 bill. We had 7 rooms.

8) Jaco is hot and humid. They turn off the AC in your room during the day. Make sure you turn it back on or it will take forever to cool back down.

9) Lots of BUGS - Roaches, Mosquitoes, Ants etc. When there's giant gaps between the door and door frame everything comes in.

Way overpriced!
$50 would be more apporpiate

The only + is the Beattle Bar is a short walk. However we were warned repeatedly not to walk it at night due to crime. Pay the 500 colones for a taxi.

Crime in Jaco is getting worse.

They have 2 guards who seem to be actively running around keeping people off the property. Lots of shady characters trying to wonder on to the small property all day and night.

I could go on and on

We paid $109 per night.

Their posted rate on the chalkboard is $119.

Only the Suites are Beach Front and those are $169

Not worth it either.

sorry John put some of your money into this place.

Not to jump on the bash the Copacabana bandwagon but  although it's been a while, for the money I was not thrilled either even if it is on the beach.
