If you are counting on giving these directions to a taxista, give this more thought. They rarely know any street names/numbers.

You might need directions such as "tres cientos metros oeste de el edificio INS."

This might have the wrong location and the spanish (to get it right, ask Irish Drifter or one of the other heavy knowledge hitters on CRT), but the point is that if you hop into a cab at the airport and want to get to ZB you'd better have "tico directions." Don't expect the driver to know what street is what and which avenue is which because he probably won't

The actual directions..

From edificio INS.....Tres cientos metros Oeste, (Oh-este) cincuenta metros Norte (300 meters West, 50 meters North)

or

cien metros Oeste de New Fantasy (100 meters West of New Fantasy)

or

cincuenta metros Sur (south) de Clarion Amon Plaza (50 meters South from Clarion Amon)

If you are anywhere in the downtown area most taxi drivers know either New Fantasy or Zona Blue

and the Airport taxis and the Interbus drivers know where the Hotel Clarion Amon Plaza is.

Another one from downtown is Hotel Holiday Inn, norte doscien metros, oeste cien metros, sur veinticinco metros edificio azul a la derecha.

Testing my spanish and urban geography here.....

If you went north two blocks from the Holiday Inn then one block west, you'd have to turn left (a la izquierda?) to arrive at the blue building of Zona Blue? Then isn't Calle 3B one-way to the north, so you could only turn right onto Calle 3B?

Oh and one more thing, did they ever get that awful steel bar out of the street? It stuck out from the side of the building just south of the ZB door and about six feet into the sidewalk at about 5'9" above the ground so any of those of us who are about six feet tall were in constant danger of gashing our head open.

Oh yeah now I remember seeing the tourismo buses parked in front of ZB facing downhill to the north.

Or, you could do what I do....

Follow your nose.

I mean, you'll either catch a whiff of fine cigars or.....

Works every time.

And, I believe calle 3B is one way going south. Remember, as you exit ZB, south is to your left. Right? :?

Yes that is correct, Clarion Amon is North of ZB, Soda Peru is South
