This Place Rocks ! ! ! 3-4 minute walk from Ground Zero. From what I've seen, just about everyone that has stayed there have only GREAT things to say. 2or 3 Master Suites and many other rooms at give away prices. I was there last night and I would live there if I hadn't bought a place. And I'm the guy that stayed at the the Del Rey for 61 straight days. The less expensive rooms that join the bathroom is a no big deal at all. There are several rooms that open to a big area that has two huge bathrooms. They were always available to me and you really don't realize they are shared unless someone reminds you. Seeing is believing. I've seen so much crap in CR that when I find something I like, I want to shout about it. Everything is Brand New. Full strength wireless in every room. The owner Dennis is 'one of the guys'. Really good company if you get the chance. You got to stay there a night and see for yourself. I'm sorry Morazon, Rey, and Presidente. I got a new home away from home. |

Thanks for taking the time to post that. Question. The shared bathrooms are on the 1st floor only, right? How does that work if your room is on the 3rd floor? |

From their website: Quote: EURO STYLE BATHS: The Deluxe Queen rooms do not have private baths. Rather, share two large baths on the first floor at the base of the stairs. It is suggested you bring a bath robe & slippers for going to & from the bathroom. ![]() |

Looks to me like a nice option but as a small hotel with shared bathrooms it's hard to see how it "rocks". I would definitely give it a try if I couldn't get one of the other majors though. |

It is obvious if the shared bathrooms are on the first floor and your room is on the third floor you have to walk down two flight of stairs to use the facilities. Duh! |

I respectfully suggest that the Queen suites that share a bath on the first floor are likely also on the first floor, but I have never set foot in the place and am guessing. ![]() ![]() |

Pacifica55 wrote: I respectfully suggest that the Queen suites that share a bath on the first floor are likely also on the first floor, but I have never set foot in the place and am guessing. ![]() ![]() There are 5 rooms that share 2 baths. 1 room is on the first floor, 2 rooms are on the second floor and 2 rooms are on the third floor. From the Freebird website: Quote: Deluxe Queen Rooms:
These are rooms # 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7. Room 3 is on the first floor. Rooms 4 & 5 are on the second floor and rooms 6 & 7 are on the third floor. Off course that is only what the hotel says on their website not based on actual experience so Orange is free to dismiss the information as hearsay and wait for an answer from someone who has personally investigated the property and confirm or deny the info on the website. ![]() Perhaps DougPI is available for the assignment ![]() |

From QBF's review, the two suites are very nice indeed. The other rooms with no private baths are a non-starter for me; I do not want to have to leave my room just to take a leak. ![]() |

I stayed on the first floor and the bathroom was one door away. There was another person staying in a room above me. I left my door open most of the time and we had a great time. I would not have met him if it was a traditional hotel situation. I think the layout of this place is what everyone seems to like. With so few rooms, security was a non-issue. Very open, relaxed and monger friendly. The reviews I have found of members seems to be very favorable . My room was $47 . |

Duh! Here we go again... I wasn't asking anybody to verify the location of the shared bathrooms. I was asking about the experience of walking down 2 flights of stairs to take a piss. ![]() |
