Making my 1st trip to CR 1 Jan 2008. Tried to secure a room at 2 or 3 hotels 1st week of Dec, and the best I coulddo was a $69 room at SL on the Courtyard. Recent posts lead me to believe this tends to be a noisy area (and I'm a light sleeper)

My question for those who know this hotel is: The SL website describes rooms in the New Wing, Courtyard, and Clubhouse.

If, after I arrive, I have an opportunity to get a room in one of these other sections, do you think it would be a good idea.

P.S I've learned my lesson. Make a reservations months ahead (I guess Newbies live and learn!)

Cdrtom,
If you're a light sleeper, you'd probably want to be in the clubhouse area or in the new wing. But since your trip is only a couple weeks away, at this point you'll probably have to take whatever you can get.

Have a great time. Just watch out for that Santas Bro guy. He'll be at the SL at the same time, and he's a trouble-maker! :P

In the new wing at SL you can hear someone sneeze in the room next door or above and there are doors opening and closing all hours of the day and night. Very poorly built.

Stay at the Castillo. It is cheaper and the rooms in the new area are much larger than SL. They also have a bar-restaurant and no politics.
