The hotel Aeropuerto is about 5 min from SJO, in Alajuela. They say they have a shuttle, but when I went, they told me to take a cab, and they would comp the cab, which they did.

This hotel is quite beautiful outside, with a nice open air restaurant, as well as a relatively attractive pool. The staff of the hotel were extreamly charming, and did cater to all our needs.

The price for this hotel fluctuates tremendously, so be prepared. I paid $70 for the night, but I have been quoted as much as $150 for the same room since...

This hotel is perfect for the quick SJO trip, or for those who have an EARLY morning flight, and want to be there already.

The room was 2 queen beds, and was quite comfortable. The bathroom was very clean, and the bathtub was just a little too small for 2 to sit in comfortably - so we were a little uncomfortable

The view from the rooms is over a lush green garden, and is quite pleasant. The room we had was airconditioned, and I BELIEVE that all of them are.

The food in the restaurant was quite nice, and the service was, again pleasant.

Wireless internet was quite reliable, although the signal was weak in parts of the room...

The room might be more rustic than some would like, but it was FAR more pleasant than several hotels I've stayed in.

The cab ride back was also supposed to be comped, according to my reservations, and conversations, but the person at the front desk did not know about it, and expected us to pay for the cab ride back to the airport. After several minutes of negotiation, they did, but it did irritate me a little that this happened, although I won't let it detract me from highly recommending this place.

Overall the room was pleasant, and I would definitely recommend this place, but I would caution that you should make your reservations several days ahead to ensure the better rate.
