Post subject: | Motel Eden review by QBF |
The only place in the whole world where I MAY have had more sex in than ZB, would be the Motel Eden... This place is fantastic! If they had internet, I cannot see a reason to leave the room! The Motel is not far from the Radisson hotel, and has 2 entrances. One on the highway from Guapiles to San Jose (so you go from San Jose to Guapiles, pass the motel, and take the first exit, then come back, and the entrance is on your right). The other entrance is off the main thoroughfare from Uruca to San Pedro (around San Jose)... If you don't know how to get there, it is about 5 min, in HEAVY traffic from Zona Blue, and ANY cab driver should know how to get there. This is one of those motels where you drive into the parking garage, and close the garage. You go in, put 15,000 colones in the "dumb waiter" and wait for them to buzz you back with your towels, soap, condoms, and menu, and change if you didn't have exactly 15k... The rooms all seem to vary in their offerings, but the basics are: a king bed, a jacuzzi, and a shower. Some have waterfalls, some have steam rooms, and some have a second shower (not quite sure why). I tend to like the waterfall rooms, which have a waterfall falling into the jacuzzi, it makes for a VERY pleasant place. The menu, for their restaurant/bar is rather limited in it's food offerings, but quite decent considering. The menu has on offer pretty much everything that one would need to spend a very pleasant few hours. The longest I've stayed in a room was about 8 hours... I believe that the 15k gives you 12 hours, but I could be wrong. These rooms are not airconditioned, but I've never found a need. They're not hot, and they're quite pleasant, temperature wise... I've actually been cold once or twice though, although the cure for that is a LOT of fun... If you want anything from the menu, you pick up the phone, and as the person at the other end, and then a short time later it magically appears in your dumb waiter, which you fill with $, and then they send back the change... My only pet peeve about this place is that they INSIST on you taking care of whatever it is in the dumb waiter, which can be inconvenient if you're in the middle of something, and you REALLY don't care about getting your 2000 colones back... But they'll keep buzzing you, and eventually call you if you don't take your change, receipt, food, etc... qbf |

Yeah, the 15k IS per chica... I went with 2 once, and got the same deal... 30k for 12 hours... still, that's less than the chica fee at some places... ![]() ![]() |

Staying overnight at Eden could be a good option especially if in a pinch for a decent room but one big problem I see is that once you leave you're oficially "checked out" so if you plan to spend the night you'd better bring a chica and be prepared not to leave again until morning. I mean, you can't go rent a room, leave your bags then come back later...or can you? ![]() |

No, you can't... But once you have a chica for TLN, I don't know of any hotels in CR with waterfalls going into jacuzzi's, which have steam rooms... Like I said in my review, if they had internet, I don't see a point in leaving the room... They bring food to you, they bring condoms to you, they bring alcohol to you... All you have to furnish is a chica willing to phuk your brains out for 12 hours... This is something cien can accomplish even with the fugliest of us. If you bring back two, they can tag-team you all night long ![]() |

QBF Thank you for posting the information on Motel Eden. I was trying to figure out how it worked and your information made it very understandable. Do you know if the other drive-in motels in San Francisco de Dos Rios work the same way, meaning with a dumb waiter? Thanks! DC |

If you arrive in a taxi, does the driver still just drive in? |

Yes the taxi will bring you to a vacant garage. pay him, close garage door behind you and start having fun! |

Just by comparison, I was quoted 7,000 colones for three hours minimum in a clean yet rudimentary and spartan room in San Pedro -- no TV, double not king, no shower let alone Jacuzzi. Add another 2,000 for parking and bingo = 9,000 colones where as Eden is 15,000 for 12 hours and secure parking and you don't have to listen to the sounds of the city outside your window. |
