I have stayed there. It's a good deal with the CRT discount, IMHO. It's basically equivalent to an average or above-average apartment in U.S. The furnishings are dated and a little worn. You get a living room and kitchen. The Junior Suite has a king size bed, nicer furniture and linen in the bedroom, and otherwise not much to distinguish itself from a standard suite, which is the better buy if you don't mind a double bed. There's a restaurant on site that's decent. The drawbacks -- there's not much in the way of anything like restaurants, bars, etc. that you'd want to visit in the general vicinity. It's maybe a 10-15 minute ride in a taxi to get anywhere, and you have to get them to call a cab for you and wait maybe 5 minutes in addition. You do have to register your guest, which involves photocopying her I.D., and there was a joiner fee -- I don't remember how much but it wasn't a lot. For $80 a night, the standard suite beats all the hotels I've stayed at in San Jose, on the basis of what you pay for what you get. That's if you don't mind the location. |
