After two days im checking out...I really dont get the attraction here...unless your are in retirement age. when i walk through the bar i feel out of place because i dont have a cane..It reminds me of the west coast of florida.

My room hermosa appx $80 per nite was fair at best. Im not sure if this is the new wing or not.. if its the new wing the'll need to be updating soon. this no way compares to a junior suite at the presidente. as far as clean i give it a 6 out of ten..with towels that are falling apart.

the reason im writing so early is the noise they are doing construction and there are dogs constantly barking. speaking of noise if you want to take a afternoon nap the bar noise also comes through this paticular room too.

as far as location its ok during the day but there are no taxis at nite..

on the positive side the internet works great. the restaurant has some good bar style food wings BLT etc. also no chica fee. my advice come for lunch.

ps i called nixon at the clarion yesterday. he booked me a junior suite for thur$fri nite ill let you know how that goes.

Dude, go back to Miami and stay at the Holiday Inn.
You're in Costa Rica and, for the price, these are some of
the nicest rooms in the gluch.

You have to do what makes you happy but in the report it sounds like you are putting down some of the other guests. I doubt the Clarion will be much better but if it works for you, great. I think the SL can be smooth and relaxing but also upbeat and fun. Sometimes the chicas far outnumber the guys. Another way to look at it is being younger could be a positive to the some of the chicas.

Always bring ear plugs and even one of those eye covers to CR or anywhere in the Southern Hemisphere. It's often the only way to sleep past sunrise. There is always noise and often light coming through the windows.

I've been curious about the SL for a while. Pretty much rave reviews. I tried to stay there on my last trip but they were going to bounce me from room to room during my stay.

I don't think I stayed in any hotel in CR ever - without waking up because of dogs barking, people laughing, or cars honking. Bring earplugs.

Just as there are differences in who is the hottest woman, so is it with rooms, or anything else in life.

On my three trips to CR I have never stayed anywhere else, nor do I wish too. I am sure that there are many other fine choices of rooms that are equal to, or may have nicer amenities (Hotel M?) in the room, than the SL. Since all I do is phuck, shower, and sleep in it, I am very satisfied.

I enjoy the ambiance. Having my room 50-100 feet from the bar to take my most current rental unit is a big plus. Thanksgiving there were many more ladies, and much nicer looking, available than my previous trips. I think the word is getting out and this will only improve. Generally, the women at SL have been more of the GFE type than others I brought in. I just stayed at a room in Hollywood at the Grove for business. It was $350.00 per night. Was it four times better than the SL, I think not. My rooms have always been cleaned daily, and while the towels may not be Turkish, they have always been adequate, and plentiful with more to come for the asking. They even have decent toilet paper.

The bar, and the CRT brothers that hang there in the afternoons, and evenings. I have yet to find a comparable place to shoot the shit yet. I'm sure that you can at the BM though. I know, I don't come for that, but since I only spent 22 hours phucking in six days last trip, it left plenty of time to swap stories, and tell lies. I can even get a decent Gringo type meal there.

Bill, Johanna and the staff. I can't say enough about what they have created. Everyone always make me feel welcome. I'm also very happy to see Vanessa back.

I can understand that the SL is not for everyone. Let us know how your move worked and your thoughts about the room you moved where you stayed. There may be a time when the SL is booked. Any information about other hotels is appreciated.

See y'all in three weeks or so...............

Happy holidays to all.

Im not meaning to put down the guests. i am more trying to state the crowd in which it seems to attract.

I know you did not mean anything personal but do you know the demographics of the "typical" tourist in the gulch? 39 and below are a much lower percentage than 40+. You should expect to find the clientele at any other real hotel quite similar to the SL. The reason there are some older gentlemen is that it takes some disposable income to hobby that way and to afford a place as nice as the SL. I would say to anyone, try to enjoy the diversity in SJO generally and appreciate older guys still out trying to get with it. I wish them all the best and hope they have a hell of a time with the chicas and feel 18 again. You have to remember, these young chicas can be a treasure and it's one we can share and and never have to greedy about. Every time I see a guy that seems "too old" to be out chasing women it lets me know I've finally found something I can enjoy doing the rest of my life. I hope I'm still able to knock a few out when I'm 70. :)

".....Decent toilet paper at the Sportsmens Lodge."

Now, that's definitely a plus in CR.

So far I'm a one trip wonder, second trip in January so I don't have the CR experience these guy's have. I'm almost 48 and most of my friends are older some as much as twenty years and I'll tell you what I think.

Some of these old farts have forgotten more than the youngsters could possibly know, I love learning and listening to war stories and it's paid big dividends in my life.

Being a bit anti social at times the SL worked well for me if I wanted company it was almost always available, if I wanted to just chill I'd grab a cigar and find a couch and relax. The atmosphere is it's own thats probably what I like about it, Pacifica called it a clubhouse and I think thats a perfect description. Being new to overseas mongering it had the comfortable feel which is hard to get for and uptight newbie. The staff never seemed to busy to help or answer questions.

I also stayed at the Amon and found it okay, Nixon was the consummate host and I enjoyed my stay there but it's closer to a U.S. hotel that needed updating. At the SL it has a warm feel to it.
