The Backyard

Las Canciones del Mar

Hotel Casino Amapola

Tried searching but couldn't find anything, of course I am a search idiot. Anyone have any advice on these hotels. Looking for waterfront with air and reasonably priced if you have advice appreciate it as we are trying to book real soon.

We are not surfers or beach bums more like laid back cigar smoking do nothings. :)

Canciones del Mar is nice if the construction next door is complete . Another option on the beach is the Copacabana. Its a little more expensive but very nice. A cheaper alternative on the beach is Claritas.

Hmm, just who are you accusing of being a do nothing??

I did call and speak with the hotel when booking the rooms, and the staff member said construction was done.

One of us will post a review when our stay is complete.

I was just at Canciones del Mar earlier this week and cut my visit short because of the mess and the construction. I'm sure once it's done it will be great but right now I would stay far away from there. Those guys were hammering away and 6:30 in the morning. There's a big pile of garbage in the middle of the parking lot so it's hard to park if there's more than a couple cars there. They say they're supposed to be done in 2 or 3 weeks before peak season but we'll see how that goes.

I forgot to mention that if you're taking Wifey and your 6 K*ds Amapola is right up your alley. That's my way of saying "it suck's".

Damn, guess what she was trying to tell me was that it would be done. Sure hope so. We are there the 13th, 14th and 15th.

Thanks for the info.

Besides the mess and racket at Canciones del Mar when I was there last week it was also the masive construction going on all over the city that made me cut and run after barely 2 days there. Seems like there's construction EVERYWHERE there. I got in my rental car and drove to the piece and tranquility and beauty of Puert Viejo and am glad I did.
