I was vaccinated for yellow fever in 1964 and in 1985 and in 1995. My official vaccination record book, which had to have been published before 1964, stated that a yellow fever vaccination is good for ten years. It is possible that sometime during the last 43 years the medical community has changed the guidelines from the ten year effective time period to a longer time period. Since my last vaccination occurred 12 years ago, does anyone know if I need another vaccination now to comply with the new Costa Rican law? From the information that has appeared on this website to date about the required vaccination, all it says is that a yellow fever vaccination is required. It doesn't say anything about how recent the vaccination needs to have been administered. I may not be legal, or I may be triple legal? Does anyone know the answer?
