Post subject: | Hotel reservation question |
I haven't seen this question covered in my months of reading the forum, so I'll go ahead and ask. Has anyone ever had a problem with making reservations in advance and then finding the hotel has dropped you or moved you to a lesser room than what you'd booked? Specifically, has this happened at either the SL or El Presidente? Or are they pretty good about honoring reservations? I booked both hotels last month for a trip in January and both have confirmed my room selection and availability for the time I'll be there. It's just so far in advance though that I'm wondering if they'll 'forget' them. I'll definitely contact them closer to when I'm leaving, but I'm still concerned. I'm traveling alone and don't want to find myself searching the city for a hotel and hoping they allow chicas. Thanks for your input. |

People booked for the Super Bowl at the SL while I was there in July. You won't have any problems keeping your reservation. |

Even though it is Costa Rica, all the hotels are very professional. Have them send you a confirmation email so you can print it out and have the proof with you in case there are any problems. Also, make sure to re-confirm it closer to the date. Morazan has been known to lose reservations (more than the average hotel), but that's about it. Anything can happen but you should be ok. |

I got a reservation e-mail from both hotels with a reservation number for each. I definitely won't sweat too much now, but I will check back with them when I get closer to the dates. |

Since both hotels are very good in honoring reservations, cancel the one you will not use to give others a chance to get a reservation. It would be appreciated. Thanks. |

I've never heard of the SL or Pres. losing a reservation and wouldn't even worry about it. Now if you were booked at the Morazan..... ![]() |

Nooo I'm not double-booked at any hotels, nor am I on any waiting lists. I'm booked at both hotels for separate segments of my trip. Sorry to anyone looking to snatch up my rooms during that time. ![]() Just a warning, the Presidente is pretty booked throughout January.. |
