In the last few months it has appeared that the Hotel Morazán had gotten its act together and was honoring its own reservations. At least that's what my own anecdotal experience showed in addition to recent reviews on the board. However, during the last couple of trips, friends of mine arriving late on weekend nights have had their reservations mysteriously dissappear, and the hotel had no vacancies. At this point they were steered to their sister hotel the Europa. Beware of reserving rooms there particularly if you are going to arrive in the evening. At least when airlines bump you they are required to offer compensation. |

I made reservations at Hotel Morazon last week. I telephoned for 2 days before their phone was finally answered at 7:00am. I spoke with Caroline to make my reservation. I also requested a confirmation number. When I arrived....you guessed it! Ricardo,the bellhop, announced "I am sorry but we have no record of your reservation...and we are fully booked. Whom did you speak with?" I dug out my notes from my bag. "Caroline." "And, do you have a reservation number, senior?" Ricardo" asked. "Yes, it is 22335455 or whatever..."." Okay, come this way. " Without the name and confirmation number I would have been put aside. Or...as my friend suggested, perhaps Ricardo was fishing for a tip. |

Ricardo is a bit of a scammer. I just tune him out. Be firm with him and give your information and you will get the room. He has been there alot of years and makes his money on kickbacks. |

well...i got one on ricky this past trip....i was booked at the sportmens and they had me in the "amor" room...which for 52.00 a nite was not my ideal of what i wanted ...as i had booked for 7 days...so as i put my bags in my room , i didnt know how good i had it when i was in the "paz" as it makes the amora feel like a "suite" any way on my way to the delray for a quick look ..i made myself a back up plan in case the sportmen said ...that your room for a week ...so "ricky" sees me and starts with his crap...and i ask him if he has a room for the next 6 days and hesays ..sure i save it for you and says " you are a good guest and i want to take care of you...."right ' so i go back to the sportmen later and ...just flat out tell the girl at the desk ....that my room sucks and i want out of it ..told her i would stay that first night ....and would leave the next day..to her credit she put me in the room next to the office and really i loved it !!! same price ..and since i am the first one up and mostly the last one to sleep...the voices and phone ringing didnt bother me ....but as i was walking by the morazan ...big boy ricky sees me and starts yelling....i been saving your room all week .....for you ..what happen ? i said sorry ricky ..i forgot all about you !!! |
