I just returned from another quick trip. I make many each year, at least 6. I am a diehard Sportsman's Lodge guy. I often come down during the week and usually can get in. BUT it seems the SL becomes more and more popular and I could not get in. I always book within 1 to 2 weeks of my actual trip because I plan my trips last minute.

This trip I tried the Clarion. It was fantastic! I booked thru Nixon got the deal. It is very nice. Breakfast is ok but a little inconsistent. Omelette chef changed each day. Some were good some were ok.Never a problem bringing in a girl. I also saw several other guys bringing them in so I was not alone. Plus you are 1 block from Zona Blue! It has the feel of an American quality hotel. Any first timer that is worried or unsure about places to stay will feel very comfortable here.

The Sportsmens Lodge is "the CRT Clubhouse" and always my first choice... But, you are right on about the Clarion as a clean Americanized hotel with a perfect location...
It gives you a great transition into T*******...
With ZB and NF just around the corner, the SL a few minutes away and the real hysteria of the Del Rey, that notorious den of iniquity, is far enough away to help regain your sanity...
