Post subject: | Newbie Presidente Question |
I am planning my first trip to CR and was hoping I might get a little help in choosing a hotel. Most of my questions have been answered via previous posts, but I did come up with some thoughts that I was wondering if somebody with more experience might be able to comment on. I am mainly torn between the Presidente and the SL. The Presidente’s rooms/accommodations look very nice, but I am concerned from recent posts that things may have changed so I am unsure what to make of past good reviews. For example is the dress code truly a problem or simply a minor inconvenience??? I have also read conflicting reports on how safe it is to walk from the Presidente to HDR. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. |

It's still nice and that's the only non-controversial part of your question. ![]() PS both places stay booked, so upon trying to reserve your room the decision may be made for you. |

Hotel Costa Rica Morazon is closer and more convenient to the gulch than Presidente. Very reasonable rates and could not be more guest friendly. A far better choice than Presidente for the monger, imo. SL is of course always a good option. |

I think he meant to say that its a block closer to the Hotel Del Rey, technically they are both in the "gulch". The Morazán does have a good location and price going for it, but otherwise it falls far short of the quality and amenities of the Presidente or Sportmens. For an additional Caveat Emptor read my warning linked below: http://costaricaticas.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=189840&sid=b77da4dfc79a2b02a9072f62e4bb05bc#189840 |

One question I forgot to ask was concerning the chica rule at the Presidente. Is it one guest per room or per person? For instance if I am sharing the two bedroom master suite with a buddy would we only be able to bring one girl to the room????? I looked all over this forum and was unable to find an answer to this one. Thanks again for the help. |

A quick search with the terms Master Suite and rule came up with 13 responses. Here's a couple that address your question: http://costaricaticas.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10183&highlight=master+suite+rule http://costaricaticas.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=9101&highlight=master+suite+rule Admin 1 has posted on the subject and confirms what RN posts below however he has suggested in the past that you write the hotel directly to confirm that this is still the policy. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the OFFICIAL policy of the master suite... the rules are one chica per room and technically the Master suite has two rooms, thus if you are staying in the Master Suite BY YOURSELF, you can bring in two chicas... but if there are two guys checked into the room, it will wind up as one chica per guy (or per 'room' within the suite). Now, I've heard from many sources that, like any other rules in CR, you can get around them if you know the right people or pay the right amount, but what I wrote above is the official policy as given to me and GetRhythm when we rented the Master Suite out this past 4th of July weekend. |
