Post subject: | Sale on Delta, Join me. |
There is a sale on Delta airlines. About 20 percent off which is good. Check from your city today. Fares good to buy thru three days. Valid until mid December 2007. Sorry superbowl fans. I am looking for a wingman. Will book at the Sportsman's Lodge or Presidente. whichever has the rooms. I will not travel alone. I am done with solo adventures. I am older but love my novias and they love me (or my wallet). I really do not care which. I will bring my new Canon G7 camera. Who is up for a trip? any members of the tribe ?, my karate friends?, my friends with "true" novias in SJO?, my Vietnam vet friends?, my Atlanta friends? my Redsnake friends?, my party friends? any fellow "sharks" (lawyers), or who?.... Which are good dates for you and are rooms available at the good hotels? |

not travel alone? I know it can be a bit intimidating. Are your Spanish skills ok? That can be a major barrier in the C.R. I'm not questioning you to give you a hard time or anything but think you can do it solo and have a great time. I'm semi-fluent in Spanish so can get around just about anywhere down there but safety always a concern for me and even those fluent in Spanish. It is very difficult to get around outside the gulch though if you have limited Spanish. I hate to see people not want to travel because they don't have someone to travel with. Safety is paramount and number 1 importance but if you stay in reputable hotels, ask the hotel staff to help you around and take tours think you can have a great trip. I always try to stay in more common little bit pricier hotels where there are some fellow gringos or English speaking Ticos. I almost always meet someone in the hotel to talk to and even leave the hotel with to go to some fun spots. |

I should be there 25-29 Oct. barring another hurricane or complications from one. Will be staying outside the gulch and plan to go out for night life in Escazu as well as some day trips to Cartago and maybe even Alajuela if interested in joining me. Will do some mongering but mainly at the masajes along Paseo Colon nearer the Parque la Sabana. HDR and gulch is fun but a little too much for me. "Think outside the gulch" |

Post subject: | Lower Yet on Delta |
Holy Sh*t Batman, I found that Delta prices varies depending on the date of travel. I just found fares from $336 RT incl taxes and fees out of Atlanta, for a Thursday thru Monday. $100 higher if I leave Friday instead of Thursday. |

Yeah, Finally from ATL to SJO. It has been on Sale for a month from JFK. I have been booking "multi city" trips from Atl to Sjo and Sjo to JFK without using the last leg. One trip is was $750 from atl and only $319 from JFK. This sucks because all the flights from JFK use the same ATL flight #246 for less than half the cost. I missed the last sale in August and I've been paying about 150 more per trip. |

I am booked at the Sportsman's Lodge, arrive 25 Oct Thursday, depart 29 Oct Monday. One of the reasons I picked the Sportsman's Lodge is that they replied to my email reservation request on Sunday. I am familiar with the hotel and have visited there before but not stayed there. The only real pain with the hotel is having taxi drivers find it but now I have their map printed out. See you at the party if not before. I got a Delta nonstop from ATL for the sale price. I think the sale ends today so I got off my butt and acted. |

Jester, San Jose is not a place to engage in walking tours of the downtown areas in general. Of course if you are with a crowd of karate black belts that can change. Sorry, but if you walk but it should be with extreme caution at all times. Others may have different views, so this is just my view based on seeing bashed and battered tourists return to my hotel. |

Post subject: | We will be in CR happy to meet up |
Me and my wingman will be making our first trip to CR on Oct 26 - Oct 28. We would be happy first off to find a nice hotel and a nice room, it seems most places are booked or only have economy rooms left. We would also be happy to meet anyone just to make friends and have a jolly good time. We are both in our mid 30's and looking forward to all the great things the ticas have to offer, so long as they are not STD's ![]() Sam |

Sam, Take the economy rooms if you can get them this late. Try the alternative hotels, Castillo, Armistad and Amon. Morazon if you must. If you want luxury and are willing to pay visitor's fees, try the Sleep Inn. To All: The Delta sale is ended. Sorry. |
