What is the best reason for staying at the M? Do you get better looking girls with good attitudes here? Thanks in advance.

I would be curious to know whether they can maintain their various price point for their different offerings. I know that SJO is short of hotel rooms, but I am not sure that there are alot of mongers that want to pay so much when there are competing offerings for a lot less. :?:

have you noticed almost all of the CR hotels have very firm mattresess?

in the us, Westin, Marriott, Hilton etc starting switching to 18in mattresses in the last several years

a year ago, i got a 4K mattress, at first i didn't notice anything special, other than the absence of back pain,
but as soon as i stayed at a CR hotel again, i would start having back pains in a few days

i recall seeing thick mattresses at M, but that was during a tour

as for chicks, they may go wow at first, but i have noticed some will get spoiled very quickly

The Hotel M is a private club, devoted to the guy who likes the finer things in life. It's not meant to be another HDR or SL. My sometimes-wingman Cyrano, whose tastes ARE like that, raves about it and won't stay anywhere else in SJ. If you have the money, it probably is the place to be if you want a real fancy exclusive mongering-friendly hotel far removed from the rabble. :D

Thanks hikertom. I sort of figured that it had to be different for the asking price.

Yes, Hotel M. is for the well-heeled hobbyist with a taste for the finer things.

I can tell you this: It sure is purty. Maybe someday I'll stay there and will be able to give a thorough review. My first impressions as a visitor to their common areas were:

* Wow, this is nice!

* Wow, the chicas want 50% more here than at the HDR...wonder why?

* Man, these drinks are expensive...$7.00 for a shot of local rum!?
* Hey, the guys who run this place are friendly and classy.

* Hey, that chick is a dead ringer for Barbie Benton!

* How do I get out of here to rejoin my fellow "rabble?"

Nice place, high priced, off the beaten path, decent folks running it.

That's my two colones' worth, written by someone who has neither stayed nor played there. YMMV.

YO M $Money$

Yea, I can just see this poor slob staying there. They seemed a bit high class when we had the party there. Damn, the cost of one night without a chica is my entire budget for 4 days. There were some hot chicas showing their wares but when I offered one $26. plus some baseball cards she spit on my flip flops. Sort of makes one feel banished.

Hell, if you have the mucho dinero to stay there then go for it. If you need your limo washed while there then let old Circus make a buck if I'm in country. It's about the only way I'll get into the action.

Well, Tom, you have that half right, depending on if I am flying in formation or it is a solo sortie.

Every time I have stayed at the HM I have had a wingwoman with me. The place is much better with a date because it is so personal. You can wander around in your bath robe, and just go to the bar and get a drink - usually they know your room number after the first day.

There is also the hot tub. Can't think of a single time I have used it with any clothes, and without at least 2 ladies. Playing with the curtains is fun.

Also, a lot of the higher class chicas don't like to go to the Gulch. You can find them at the HM, and they are more willing to meet you there than at the DR.

But when I am going to SJ solo, I prefer the Prez. Very nice accommodations, and easier on the Gulch pickup.

The comparison to the SL on SuperBowl was amazing. Glad I went to the SL for the experience, but I am always going to give the HM first choice for event parties. Even if I was at the Prez, I would make the trip to the HM if they had an organized event. They do great food and a great show. But for a casual lunch with some mongers, I might choose the SL.

It all depends on what you are looking for.

PS - I'll be at the HM for one night this month, on my way to the beach. Am breaking in a new wingwoman. Well, actualy more of a "date," since she is not bisexual. Our SJO flights arrive at different times. By staying at the HM, I know she will be made to feel welcome and taken care of until I arrive. No worries about checkin, credit cards, etc. They know me, and everything will work out fine.

I have entertained staying there but the rooms don't really look like $200/night rooms. The girls at the Anniv. Party last year were hot! If they really have that kind of talent it may be worth a visit.

They have some rooms for a lot less - $135 I think. I would not stay there for the girls quite yet - just make a taxi run (<1,000c if they use the meter) from the Gulch to hit on the action. In the future, it may be a good destination for those who can afford an extra $100 on the room and the chicas over the Gulch.

If you walk chicas when they want $70, the HM is clearly NOT your place.

When I toured over Memorial Day the manager said that the cheapest room was $175. It is the room right off the bar that the dancers were using as a dressing room (great tour!).

Mercury Room is $150: http://hotelmcostarica.com/room_mercury.asp
With the CRT VIP 10% discount, that's $135.

I stayed there about a month ago, for 2 days. While I did spend most of my time elsewhere, I saw a grand total of three women in the bar who were on the game, and none were stunners. Is this normal now or was I there at a bad time?
