have been to amsterdam many times but looking for a better climate and exchange rate for dollars. heard that the best place to stay for first timer in costa rica is HDR, but most hotel agencies like hotel.com won't book it. if you contact HDR site directly, you can book it, but they don't tell you how much. what gives? also: do i really need to get hep shots? and do i really need to bring condoms and lube? seems a little creepy to me. thanks

Well I argee with about 99% of the people here. A first timer SHOULD stay at HDR... Even just a couple nights. Just send HDR an email.. asking for current rates then make your reservations thru there website. I stayed there twice on my first trip. No problems either time.. Bringing condoms and lube is more a matter of personal preference. They may not have the kind you want. As far as HEP shots, I wouldn't say its needed. but couldn't hurt. (I Didn't and I'm fine)
