I just got the best fare from Detroit to SJO that I have ever gotten in 25 trips over 7 years. Beat the heck out of Spirit, which I am flying in Sept for $335, -----Delta, Nov 27-Dec 6, $$$$ 263. I think that I have died and gone to heaven. It was sort of a problem booking online--called help desk, he ended up getting me a duplicate ticket, then we had to cancel one, but bottom line DTW to SJO $265. Last year same time, I think I paid $ 550 or more |

That booking uses the flight from Atl. I checked the flight direct from Atl to Sjo and it is 549.42. I guess they are competing with Spirit. |

I like Delta, and I've always had pretty good experiences whenever I've flown with Delta. The only problem, is that those of us who live in S. Florida - to take a Delta flight to SJO, we've got to fly North - all the way to Atlanta first, then head South into SJO. That makes for a much longer day, and definitely not as convenient as a direct flight on Spirit out of Ft Lauderdale or AA out of Miami. YMMV. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Delta start flying direct to SJO from Orlando, Melbourne, Tampa or Miami. Competition is GOOD!!!! MG ![]() |

Even at $549, Delta offers a good deal in a non stop flight of four hours total in the air, with no lost baggage and a free drink and "meal". I would rather fly non stop on Delta, since I originate in Atlanta, than change planes and wait hours for a connection in Miami or Dallas for a one or two hundred dollar savings. And those frequent flyer miles add up. I have flown to SJO twice on miles. Spirit Air is out of the question until they get their customer service act together and their connections stink. |

Probably no chance of that... At least AA is going to start their FLL to SJO soon... I love competition, and cheaper fares... ![]() |

ya aa is ghoing to start to fly fll to sjo. does anyone remember usair flying direct from fll to sjo. i bought a tica a flight up here on usair from san jose for 160.00 round trip. as soon as aa found out they undersold usair out of miami for a couple months. usair pulled out of that flight and then aa raised there prices back up. The quote from a friend flight attendant was that they will lower there prices to fight anyone out of fll or miami. they own miami and will undersell anyone else to push them out of the market. thats why i think aa is going to start service from fll. does anyone know when the there fll service is going to start? |
