Post subject:  transportation to Jaco, and Del Ray vs. Presidente

Guys,

Have reservations at Copa Cabana in Jaco, and the hotel has an AC van that I can book, with cooler of beers, for $100. I've got the same offer from Juan Vega, who was recommended on this site. Any thoughts on who would be more dependable? FYI the $100 is for me and 4 other friends.

Secondly, I've booked rooms at the Del Rey for the second half of our trip, and I read a fairly negative thread today on the Del Ray. Should I be trying to book elsewhere now? I thought the Del Ray was a great location? Is the Presidente a better option?

I think everybody would agree that the DR has the best location, obviously. You can go downstairs in your jammies at 3am and grabt a latenight snack to take up to your room.

But I think most would agree that the Pres has much nicer rooms. The location isn't bad either, a block and a half from DR. Take a taxi at night though, $1 fare if you hail a passing cab, not the parked taxis in front of DR.

The thread about the bogus charges..... There are also a few guys who posted that they always stay there with no problems. Shit happens everywhere. One time at SL, which most would agree is very good, somehow I was charged for mini-bar items that I never consumed. It was later refunded to me once they figured out what happened. They didn't reset the bill on the computer from the previous guest, so I almost got stuck with his bill.

Transportation.... either one sounds good for 5 guys.
