Any suggestions as to websites where I could begin to look if I were looking to rent (long-term) or purchase an apartment in the Amon District? Thx.

Actually, Casa Vino in Barrio Amon is for sale the last I heard. I think it would make a great buy, I love the location.

IMHO, asking price is a bit high unless planning on living there and waiting out appreciation, last I heard asking price was 175K.

Yes, I had called in on it a few weeks ago. The asking price is $175,00, but you're buying the house and the business. It's turnkey with management, advertising, website, booking system and clients in place. I'm headed to Euorope for a long term assignment, if not I was all set. It would be great to have a place to stay whenever I vist and then have it rented and producing income the rest of the time, plus then my trips there would have been tax deductable.

Generally Amon and Ottoya apts are hard to come by. Try LaNacion classifieds (in Spanish). There are never listings for these areas in TicoTimes/AM Costa Rica or Craigslist. I would suggest walking the area with a pen and paper as there are often signs up.
