I was looking at some fares in October and found this AA fare of $276 (includes taxes) on American.

I don't fly AA but thought maybe somebody else may use it.

Some sale. :x
I checked a few dates in October (SFO-SJO) and found RT fares from $210 to $260 + tax/fee's. Sounds good until I see the tax/fee amounts of $239!! Final price was about the same as other carriers I checked who aren't having a sale (and virtually all their taxes & fee's were around $72.)

I am looking at fares out of NY/NJ, not San Fran.

I just did a search on Kayak, and the best out of JFK is DELTA (through Atlanta) is $296-306 (including taxes). There are some good flights with short layover.

TACA nonstop from JFK is about $400 (including taxes).

With my poor track record on AA, cheap fares on that airline do not excite me anymore. What really has my attention, though, is the non-stop Continental EWR - SJO flight for $269 R/T (Total Price). CO # 1796 & 1797 always seem to be quick and clean trips...no connection hassles in places like Miami, Houston, Atlanta & Charlotte.
