I'm sure these have been answered, but I've trolled for a while, and not found the answer, so here it goes... Where is the Hotel Castillo? Are there rooms with 2 queen beds? I think everything else I've gotten answered... Thanks! |

Exit ZB, make a right hand turn, and walk up the hill about 3 blocks. It will be on your left hand side. |

Hey, I explore plenty... There's hardly a stripclub, MP, or other form of whorehouse in SJO I haven't been in, and sampled... I've also seen several museums (from the outside) - heck I went into the jade museum for about 30 seconds once... (they told me I needed to buy a ticket, so I left). But hotels??? Who needs to explore hotels when you have ZB? Well, obviously I do, but that was more of a rhetorical question... |

![]() I certainly wouldn't get thier standard rooms, even if your only setting up camp for one night. A delux room is pretty reasonable and has CRT discount. They have a room in that section with 2 queen beds and a balcony that has ample room to have your chica howling at the moon..... Cujo |

I find them more than acceptable for CR accomodations. Berk..... |

I spent my first night in their standard room last night. It was more than adequate with a great shower and endless hot water which seems to be rare in this country. For the weekly rate, CRT discount and paid in cash it came out to thirty eight bucks per night. Cant beat that. |

I found that I had to take a quick shower or the water would run over stall and get water all over the floor. There's also a free breakfast. It's the same everyday. Self Served. Rice, hard boiled eggs, bananas, watermelon, bread, milk and some juice. It gets boring after 1 week. Some of the rooms are too close to the cleaning personnel. It woke me up each morning at 6-7am. |

After 5 or 6 trips to SJ, most vets find a hotel that they call "home." It is a place where they feel comfortable, welcome and pay the room rent without breaking the bank. Hotel Castillo is my "home away from home" when in San Jose. Darren and his staff do a superb job of keeping it that way. The crew at Castillo (and the regulars who stay there) make me feel like I'm family. No problem, big or small, escapes Darren's attention...all a guest has to do is let him know. I enjoy the camaraderie of the morning "breakfast club" over a plate of gallo pinto in the gardens...and hanging at the outside bar next door for a peaceful, mid-afternoon drink. I am already booked again for my 12th trip in September and October. |

I feel the same way Blue Devil, Castillo is my home in SJO, I dont think you can ask for a more attentive staff. and yes Darren is the best. I like the fact that it is far enough away from the action, that it is quiet, but yet only a 5 minute walk from the DR or the SL, and for a morning eye opener after the breakfast bunch in the gardens, NF is like 2 minutes and ZB maybe 5 minutes away. |

Post subject: | Good luck room # 20 |
I have not spoken with Darren on the subject yet, however when I return I might broach the subject. I seem to have a problem when I am handling my freshly caught snappers! The bed is all over the room. When I have finished the bed is next to the window? I am going to ask Darren or Marta can some type of stabiliztion system be placed under my bed next trip so that I dont move around so much ![]() I like a ride, but a ride that I can not remember is no fun! ![]() Love the Castillo and I can not wait to get back home. Room # 20 for good luck. |

Yea, I agree with Bluedevil. It is my home away from home. Alot of CRT's so you can meet like minded men. The staff is always nice. Darren the Manager even brings his parents and K*D to work which gives the place a homie feel. The new resturant serves good food. And there is alittle socail life. You know it is a mongers hotel yet it is not. I would let my K*ds stay there in their own room. 100% safe. It is my little hideaway. If I had one complaint it would be the walk up the hill from ZB. I am to cheap to pay for a Taxi for 3 blocks. But after a good work out at ZB I will be dammed if that hill ain't a good walk. But it is my choose to go to ZB. Not theirs Actualy Darren only did the parent thing once while I was there. Did enjoy talking to them. |
