My trip on AA this past weekend was possibly the worst travel experience in my life…

Dirty planes, overbooked and rude flight attendants on the in bound and the trip home Monday was even worse…10am to DFW did not leave till 1:45 (excuse was they couldn’t land previous night…funny, TACA, Spirit and Continental did…) So all connections were missed…and I had to go into their reservation system to show them how to get me home via San Jose CA.

This comes two weeks after they decided to drop the afternoon flight out of MRY with no warning ( I could have taken Southwest out of San Jose with some warning) and forced me to sit in LAX for 4 hours on both legs of a trip.

AA used to be the best in the sky… Now it’s TACA, Southwest, or EVA for me!

Just needed to bitch…other than that it was a great weekend! :D

Not making excuses for AA as I always fly TACA if I can because I think they are so much better than AA. That being said SJO was closed for landings two nights this past weekend because of fog. I do not know what time the TACA and Continental flights you mention landed but I do know Spirit lands at noon and leaves at 1:00 PM so they were unaffected by the fog shutting down the airport.

Talked with a friend who said his night landing to SJO was on the fourth attempt. If they had been unable to land the fourth time they had just enough fuel to land in PTY.

When we went down in April from Miami on AA, the plane smelled liked a urinal. At frist I though it was me, but when I mentioned it to my friends they agreed. The smell eventually went away after take off. The airline industry is going the way of bus lines. Cut cost whether its food ,drinks, or cleaning the plane.

Couldn't agree more with you on this one. After 10 perfect trips this was my worst ever. Plane was late into SJO by 45 minutes, then missed my connection to Orlando in Miami. AA counter personal were very rude in Miami. Had a 5 hour layover with another 1 hour late plane. There excuse, Newark plane is 98% late into Miami. I hope they get there shit together before Labor Day.

I , also, refuse to fly AA thru MIA. Continental thru Houston, is about the same time, sometimes better price, snacks, better service, usually on time. After complaining several times, receiving vouchers, I finally told AA that I had flown the last time on their airline. My trip a couple of weeks ago was on Spirit for $362 from DTW, and next month it is on Continental for $404.
Adios AA

I seem to be the minority, but I have used AA for my last two trips from MIA (non-stop) and had a very pleasant experience. They have the best fares and I am able to get an assigned seat with a powerport to plug in my laptop.

YMMV, but I fly AA 12 - 15 times per year, and I have consistently had good luck with flights. In the past, I've had problems with most of the other 'majors', so I'll stick with AA.
Respectfully,
MG :?

My first trip, the non-stop from DFW was about 30 minutes late departing but arrived on time. However, on the return, we had to wait for pilots to fly in from Miami because the pilots who were supposed to do the return had gone over thier allowable limit because of a very late arrival the previous night. Ended up almost two hours late...

Hope this trip is better. Getting worried cause I'm connecting through Miami on the outbound segment. Sure hope they aren't too late because I have a bus and a tica supposed to meet me at the airport for a 'happy arrival'

My first and only trip to CR last October I took the infamous LAX/DFW/SJO flight to CR. It was late, as I have come to find out is not unusual for this flight. They tell you all kinds of stories, but with the only AA flight out of DFW to SJO, they heave to wait for connections from the rest of the system, IMHO. We finally got on the plane, they took us off, and the flight was delayed by another 2 1/2 hours. By the time we got to CR it was very late and we taxied to the end of the runway and had buses take us into the terminal. By the time I got to the SL it was 11:30 PM. My original time was 7:30 PM if I remember right. They did send me 10,000 FF miles. This weekend I am flying AA to San Francisco for a short mongering hop, and the Haight/Ashbury Annual Street Fair, which should be very interesting. :D I trust it will be a better flight.

In Aug/Sep I am flying TACA out of/into LA non-stop. It is about a 2:30 AM take-off and about 9:00 am landing. Also the departing flight leaves in the afternoon, instead of AA's morning flight. This gives me 8 1/2 days in CR out of 9 days, instead of 5 days out of 7 . I haven't heard anything negative about this TACA flight. I'll let you know about mine. The cost is about the same, and cuts 2-3 hours minimum off the travel time each way.

Health & happiness:

Santas Bro
