If you are arranging transport to Hotel M, give your driver the following instructions:

De la Agencia Subaru en San Pedro
300 al Norte y 200 al Oeste
a mano derecha

Here's their website:

Have your taxi driver go in front and to the right of the Suburu agency, North up the street beside of it, for 300 meters. Then turn left, on the second street, I think and go 200 meters West, and you will see it.

The problem with the directions that the Hotel M provides is that they tell you to go north on the street next to the Agencia Subaru. The problem with that is the first block of that street is one way southbound. You have to go past the Suburu agency one block west and turn north at the Auto Mercado. Go 100 meters then turn east for 100 meters. That will allow you to go north on the street next to Agencia Suburu.

While this is true, I've always been under the assumption that (in CR) traffic lights, stop signs and one-way signs were merely a "suggestion"! At least that's what it seems. :o

You are absolutely correct in that observation MG  However in this case that one way traffic is one of the exit routes for Mall San Pedro and traffic is normally so heavy it is impossible to get up that one block going against traffic.
