Does anyone know what over-the-counter drug would be good to take in order to put me in a very relaxed state going to the PIs? I forget exactly how long the flight is, but it is long and I get really frustrated after about 6 hours on a plane. I want to scream and do things that could get me arrested after 6 hours, but I can't because of all those other people! Leaving Jun 27. |

On my first trip over, I took a crap load of gravol and robaxacet (spelling ), and I was out cold the entire time. After that Ive only used sleeping aid's once, Nytol which didnt work really well. I dont find it that bad if I get an overnight flight, its the daytime or evening ones that piss me off because my sleeping time it all messed up |

I realize that you are asking for over the counter stuff, but I recommend seeing your doctor or stopping by a drop in medical facility (Doctors on duty). Your existing health can affect anything that you take. Be honest with your doctor and explain that you are taking a long trip and have anxiety over the extended flight. Alcohol is not an option for anyone and there are lots of great medications for long trips. I have high blood pressure and my doctor gives me a prescription for 20 5mg tabs of valium. 1 or 2 and I am extremely mellow, another 1 and I sleep for 3 hours, get up and walk to keep blood flowing then another 2 and I’m out for another 4-5 hours. I flew 14 hour to Taipei with no side effects, took a couple more and slept to BKK. I got off the plane rested and with no side effects. A little bit of time spent with a doctor could save you a couple of days of trying to get your head right once you get to PI. Have a good trip! |

Thanks! I think I will go to my doctor and tell him that I get a very unsettling feeling and so I'd like the best he has to offer. Someone PM'd me too with an idea that requires a doctor's visit so this is the route I'll take. I feel that I need something that is really going to knock me out cold, because after I've had a few hours sleep, I can't sleep anymore. |
