The only airlines I find that are non-stops are airlines like Lacsa, Copas, and Taca air. All leave around 2AM from LAX and arrive in SJO @ 9 AM. Has anyone flown these airlines? United stops flying into SJO end of 2007. That 1st day will have to be a long one. I guess I could get a quick date and take a good nap to prep for the night.

Read the board a bit, you will find Lacsa/Taca (basically the same airline) and AA both have non stops from LAX..

Just a hint for the newbie:

Hit SEARCH
Enter Keyword: Taca
Submit

I got 233 matches

I have used www.taca.com 6 out of my 11 trips from Chicago and again in July and August.

many amigos have used them fronm LAX, JFK, Washington Dulles all without incident

I THINK THE 9am-10am arrival is the best as you do not lose a day of travel...

Sleep on the plane

Lacsa, Taca and Copa are scheduled to have new propellers installed on all of their planes in the next year. Each airline also employs at least 1 commercial pilot.

I heard they were gonna put fuel filters on their fuel lines. Just a rumor though.

I am sorry did not mean to bash TACA or Lacsa both of which I fly on a regular basis, not to Costa Rica but to Belize I usually fly Delta or Martinair to San Jose. Taca has always provided excellent service at a lower price than other carriers to the locations where I have flown them.

My post was ment to be a satirical reply to the quy that questioned their service with out even looking at the board.

It is very difficult to express humor or sarcasm with the printed word. Using emoticons alerts readers that there is a possibility that an answer is more in jest  than a serious reply. :D

Taca, has 2 am flights out of LAX on Tuesdays and Thursday. I preferr Taca over other airlines to CR and the free booze and upgrades to Business Class are great.

United stops flying to SJO this year but Taca is still a partner with United and you can use United miles to get tix. 40K miles r/t LAX to SJO.
