Review of the Presidente

Thanks to this board I found the Presidente. This is by far the best option in San Jose. It is just a block and a half from the gulch but it provides a nice buffer zone. On my trip I stayed in three different types of rooms at the Pres. First of all Lobby is very attractive and you feel like you are staying in a nice hotel with a European flair. It offers free internet with the fastest computers I had on the trip. Thanks to CRT I got a spa room which normally costs $145 for 105. It was well worth buying the CRT card just for this hotel discount. The room was outstanding it had a full living room, tile floors, huge king size bed which was separated by a partition from the rest of the room. It had a nice balcony with a three person Jacuzzi on it. The bathroom was marble and was fine but could have used a little bit of an update.

TIP* Ask for a room on the eight floor (top floor) on the North side. This will give you a nice view of the mountains and you will be on the opposite side of the central ave which can be a little loud.

After going to the beach for a few days I returned and stayed in a junior suite. For me this seems like the best option. It has everything the spa room has but does not have the Jacuzzi and at $85 dollars with the crt discount it is a great value.

On my last night when my dough was low I stayed in a standard room which had a twin bed and double bed ($56 with CRT normally $85). The first one they gave me smelled like smoke and I asked them to switch me to another one and they were very accommodating. The standard room has a smaller tv but is fine and most people would be very happy with it. It might be a little tight with two people. But it is about the size of a normal American hotel room.

One of the best features of the presidente is the news café. The news café is the hotels primary restaurant that faces the central ave. Get one of the window seats and just watch the world go by. If you stay at the hotel you get to have a nice buffet breakfast which includes fresh fruit, juice, coffee cereal, eggs made to order, beans and rice etc. Also the staff is very friendly and you get to know them over the period of your stay.

Another great feature of the presidente is the ease of bringing a chica back to your room. You simply go to front desk and they get a visitor pass. There is no signing forms etc. There is absolutely no Chica Fee. I also did not have any problems with girls not getting in because of what they were wearing.

Tip* if you think their might be a problem with the girl looking too slutty have the girl wait in the taxi and go to your room and get them a sweat shirt or a jacket and then bring it to the girl and have her put it on.

*Negative aspects of the Pres. On one night I brought a girl back to the Pres and she was on the Blacklist. I guess this was a list of bad girls who for some reason did something wrong . This girl had no idea she was on it and got very upset. Perhaps she had stolen something once or something. I was actually relieved because she had cornered me at the Del Rey and I half heartedly agreed to the session. She asked me to go to another hotel and I said no. I made my way back to the Del Rey and I found another Del Rey beauty and she asked where I was staying and I told her the Presidente and she told me she was on the Black list too. She told me she went in there one night and one of the security guards grabbed at her breasts and she yelled at him and got into a fight and was placed on the list and that was that. I believed her because I had sessioned with her on another trip and had no problem with her but who knows. I knew this girl was worth the effort so she told me about the one hour rooms at the Morazon.

The Morazon is right in the gulch next to Key largo. I definitely would not stay there as my primary choice. It is a little drab and the lobby is a casino. But if you find yourself in need of a room for an hour you cant beat 26 bucks for a decent room with two double beds to session in. This might be a great option for people who are traveling with friends and need a quick place to take a lady. Absolutely no frills at the morazon…

Review of the Sleep Inn.
The Sleep in is a nice option it is a brand new hotel that is right next the Del Rey however the lobby is located on the opposite side away from the Del Rey. The gate and security offer a nice break from the craziness of the del rey street. The rooms are about 85 a night. They are brand new and the service of the hotel is excellent. The room feels exactly like a nice American hotel. It’s a better option than the holiday inn that charges 45 dollars for a tica fee. It is also in walking distance from the Del Rey. It also has a nice breakfast, but it was not quite as good as the breakfast at the presidente. The hotel also offers free internet in the lobby. The hotel also shares a parking lot with a nice casino which has craps!!! which was the first craps table I have found in San Jose, but I was yelling English numbers and they wanted me to say it in Spanish. So I started yelling Come on Ocho!!!!!!

Tip* Ask for a room on the top floor on the parking lot side. The otherside of the hotel faces a busy street which could be loud. The trees are also filled with loud birds.

Negative- They do have chica fee of $25 dollars. But I found that for convenience this was well worth the expense. I also used this as part of my negotiating strategy with the girls. They would say 100 and I would say $75 because I have to pay the fee at the hotel and they all agreed to the price.
Negative- Slow elevator and no stairs in sight.

Great review report. I too love staying at the Hotel Presidente. Remember, even with the $56 rooms there is a jacuzzi on the sixth floor that can be reserved (free of charge) for an hour.....

I would consider that a positive rather than a negative. Girls who have been blacklisted are aware that they are and the reason they are. The hotel is providing you with a warning as to her character as well as some protection from being victimized.

There have been some posts here recently of well seasoned CRT mongers who trusted a chica a bit to far and lost some valuables. If it had happened at the Presidente that chica would now be on the blacklist and not able to steal from the CRT guy who is staying at the Presidente.

Thanks for this review! It's perfect reading for newbies seeking information about where to stay.

I especiallly appreciated the comments on the Morazan. The Presidente usurped the Morazan as the favorite some time ago among CRT guys, and we don't here much about the place. For instance, this is the first time I've read that the lobby is a casino. Good information; I've never been inside the Morazan. Good to hear too that they still offer ST rooms.

Nicely written, and useful! Thanks, man. :D
