| Post subject: | Vista Linda Apartments in Sabanilla versus Calle Blancos |
I just recieved my confirmation email from Carlos and he said to just come up to the original Vista Linda and he we drive us over to The Vista Linda Sabanilla. Anyone know anything about the Sabanilla location versus the original? Same price for us, but as I remember Sabanilla is out past San Pedro. Seems like I might want to see if we can stay in the Calle Blancos location unless this new location is alot nicer. Anyone have some feedback? |

Del Ray Dave,,, This happened to me too. At first I was really ticked because I confirmed 3 times with Carlos about the VL. So I came in from the airport in the taxi to the VL, had to wait about an hour to find Carlos and then he says that he doesnt have a room for me exept this place in sabinella. Having no choice,, and 5k in cash and 3 bags on me for a 6 week stay I did not want to be walking around SJ looking for a room. So he drives me way the heck thru guadelupe to this place in sabinella where I was completely lost. But I was glad to see that the apartment is probably twice as nice as the VL, and bigger and newer. It is run by his ex wife and I must admit that she keeps it clean and neat. There are only 3 apartments there and 1 beside it. The good part is that the bus is not over 100feet from the door and it is the same bus that stops in front of the New York Bar. the neighborhood seems a bit nicer and safer than Calle Blancos. By the second week after getting acustomed to the bus route and feeling more at home I was ok. By the end of my time I was glad that I had a nicer apartment than the VL in a nicer safer neighborhood. For those that have stayed at the VL know that the area can be a problem at night. The bus goes thru San Pedro to town right past the mall and the university. Many stores and supermarkets on the way. The only thing lacking as vs the VL is the lack of the common area to mingle with the other guys,,, but I dont go there to mingle with the guys. And now after staying at both places I will try to get a place at sabinella first when I ruturn in july. Hope this helps,,, Junkyard Dog,,, mucho barko pero pequeno biteo.......... |
