I know you're about to ridicule me for asking about Cologne when I'm about to go fishing in barrell with dynamite in MDE and Lima in two weeks... but I can't go anywhere without my Sex Panther!!!! (Stings the nostrils....)

Can you pack cologne and it not be attacked under the liquid rule? I haven't flown overseas since December, and I didn't take the chance because i had lots of little tester bottles... I would like to bring it but don't want to risk losing a new bottle. It's probably bigger than the 3 oz limit or whatever it is these days.

Do we have an official ruling?

If they find it,,they will confiscate it if this is carry on. The legal limit is a container at 3oz. or less and as many as you can fit in a 1 quart bag. You have a choice to keep it and return back to the front of security. Just pack it in your suit case and you will be fine.

Three notes:
1. If you have already checked a bag before going through security you're SOL on any liquid or gel over 3oz. Yes, they will confiscate them.

2. Only ONE quart-size plastic bag for liquids or gels is allowed in your carry-on.

3. I fill up and carry a couple old sample tubes with cologne before leaving. They fit neatly into my old Sucrets box that also holds my nail clippers, Q-tips and a mini-screwdriver for my glasses.

IHE,
Just pack it up in your checked suitcase. I know your're a sexy bitch but you probably won't need cologne from the time you leave your house until you unpack in your hotel room. :P

wow... great ones... I was expecting the germany comment but didn't even register the currency...

I just have a fear of checking bags after a very bad experience... and I'm flying via bogota from MDE to LIM...

and it's the Sex Panther that makes me a sexy bitch... it's a pungent aroma... smells like pure gasoline....

the COLON i wear actually was in a store in Ipanema for 3 times the price... I think our buddie Circus would score free duplas at Barbarellas in Rio with this stuff...

Best bet is to get a fragrant oil. They last much longer... a 3oz bottle will last you years, unless you try to clean that pink snapper smell off your breath with it...

This you can take onboard...

I always carry an average size (3.4 oz) bottle of cologne in my computer briefcase (carry-on), and have never had a problem. I carry a small zip-lock bag in one of the side pockets of my briefcase. I put the bottle of cologne in the zip-lock bag, and place it in the tray when I go through security. No problems, whatsoever. Once I'm through security, I fold the zip-lock bag, and put it back into the side pocket of my briefcase for the next time.

As long as you place it in a clear, see-thru bag, you shouldn't have a problem. Just don't try to hide it. The rule is, that you CAN bring liquids on the plane, but they can not be more than 3 oz each, and they must ALL be placed conspicuously in ONE clear bag, and scanned.

IcyHotEric, I also believe that it is much better to smell good, than to look good!

Mucho Gusto

You know, I have gone months doing the same thing,,,,,UNTIL,,that one screener decides to be a biatch because they are bored and caught an item that was 3.5oz and didn't even ask me, just threw it into the trash/collection bin immediately. I called the supervisor over and told them what had just happened. She was was supposed to ask me and give me a choice......you may get away with it for a while, but eventually they will decide to check and you can lose it.

My last trip to Cr I was prepared for IAH. I packed all my liquids and liquor in checked baggage. I took my clothes in Closet bag as carry on.
I made one mistake. I put a single bottle of Joop cologne in the carry on. Oh shit!
TSA official to me "You have to put that in a glad bag sir". We have them here". "Go on your way now you smart ass fool and enjoy yourself in CR.
Cologne is a liquid!

I have found them not to be extremely picky as long as you have your stuff in ziplock bags and it helps to take the things out and put them in a container going though the security check point.rbc100

Since the topic is cologne, have any of you guys tried the expensive synthetic male pheramones that can be added to a commercial cologne? If so, do they work?
