What does everybody think of this hotel?

How is the area? Policy towards chicas? Rooms? Thank you very much for your input.

If you like guys it's a great place to stay. I would never stay there again. It was like 25.00 chica fee. Only biz travelers and families. You stand out like a sore thumb with a chica there.

But one of the nicest in SJ, great location for access to airport and downtown. Great pool, exercise room. American 3 star quality for sure, maybe 3.25 on a 4 scale.

It is also a nice place to go on Fri. or Sat. night for the band in the lounge.

After living there for the last two months, I would rate it as one of the finest in San Jose. The staff is very friendly. The executive floors have a nice lounge with free drinks and food from 5:30AM – 9:30PM…

As far as entertainment, the bar closes early most nights, the casino is small and decent; but in two months I have never seen a working girl and the majority of the women in the bar are traveling professionals going to bed early and alone or local older wealthy couples out for an evening…

If you are looking for talent, this is not where to go. Stay there and hop a cab to the Del Ray to get your entertaining...

As a whole, it is a 5-star for Costa Rica and a solid 4-star for a business hotel in the US.

Dudes. Where there's a will there's a way. I know you could get a chica back to your room there. Just have her dress appropriately. What are they gonna say? Just say it is your "Novia" and eff em. Ok pay the extra fee for another person.

En Espanol. "Solo es mi novia, que es la problema?? Por que Ud. llame me novia una puta!!!!!!!" and that shut any a-hole right up.

I stayed at the Hotel Intercontinental in Medellin in Feb. and saw I couple chicas/mujeras walking the halls in nice clothes, even jeans but dressed appropriately and I could just tell their true profession.

If you can speak basic Spanish, yourself don't stand out terribly and can get your chica to dress down should be a no brainer.

Most the major top notch hotels in the world have putas, it might even be part of their lifeblood although discretely. Think NY Gov. in Wash. DC. Didn;t he stay in the most expensive hotel?

Nothing can get inbetween a good monger and his prize. You go guys!!

"The self help for mongers only guru" who always say "Fok them fem-nazis, let's disappear them all"

I stayed there last year for 4 days and had a chica there every night.
I didn't pay a penny and the girls checked there ID at the desk every time.

Go figure. I was there on business and even had a meeting in one of there confrence rooms. Maybe that helped.

I felt safe and at home. Very nice hotel, small casino, nice pool but I didn't use it.

I just stayed there for 2 days after a 3 day trip to the Flamingo area. The staff is very pleasant. I had a favorita with me the whole time, but she checked in with me. The rooms are very comfortable. The pool area is great and the outside bar/ restaurant is nice. The buffet restaurant blows chunks. There is another restaurant there, but the dress is formal. I tried, they do not bend on the dress code.

It is a good choice for business travel or something upper end that is not downtown...

There is a $10/day internet fee, but just sweet talk one of the chicas at the desk and they will gladly give you a gratis card each day :!: There is WiFi in the rooms if you are near the window :? Also you have WiFi throughout the main lobby area.

I got $130/night through Orbitz.com, booked about a month ago.

So this is how other people do things. I can't imagine spending that much for more than 1 or at most 2 nights anywhere, but maybe they are only staying that long. This is Central America not downtown NY!

VeeLee--If you know of a place in NYC that's anywhere near as nice as Barcelo Palacio for anything like that price or even 2X the price, PM me immediately. I'll go up there every weekend. For CR, this hotel gives quite a lot for a (in world terms) reasonable price. Need convincing? Go to the TA website and look again at mats_stockholm's pictures, especially the Grand Piano in the Lobby.
