Presidente Wireless for CR is pretty decent though strength of signal varies depending on the room your in... Download speed is about 1/2 a MB average download speed using Speak Easy as the testing site is about 200 to 300 kbs If your near the elevator on the 8th floor it works great but the room at the end of the hall if your not right next to the door with your laptop you can't get a signal.. (Note I think the room is 803 but don't quote me...) Also that room's only desk in in the far corner away from the door so its not optimum connection... Most of the rooms on the middle floors have good coverage... |

its true, The room that I was in the best signal I got was over by the door, but I overcame the signal loss. I went out and bought me a 10 foot USB cable and a USB wireless NIC. I was able to get a good signal after that. |

I found the Presidente's to be kind of frusterating, but it may have improved since my last visits. Ive always had a middle of the floor situated room, I think on the 7th floor. Anyways, I found I couldnt get a signal when I had the computer on the little table they have in the rooms, but I could get one on the bed. But when I was on the bed, I couldnt connect to my floors, it was usually the 6th floors that I was connecting to. It was kind of funny, but a connection is a connection. Overall I found it to be inconsistant at best. Sometimes youd get a decent signal going, and all of a sudden it would drop. Sometimes youd have good transfer speeds and other times it was barely moving. If its just leisure web browsing I thikn youll manage, but anything more then that and Id at least request a room situated very close to the router. |

The SL has a good signal in most rooms. You can get speeds of almost 1 MB per second. The thing that I found everywhere in CR is that the signal is not consistent. It can be really good then all of a sudden go weak. |

Yeah I didnt think it seemed like a top priority to them, but didnt want to say a whole lot since I havent ventured down that way for quite some time. Actually its a bit surprising where the hotel has turned more eco-tourist based. Youd think they would have some concerns over their internet. |

They told me the signal is best near the elevators, then offered to move me to a different room but it was further away from the elevators |

I had a room on the fourth floor right next to the elevator and I had to connect to the router on the 5th floor. My internet access was intermittent. |

Does the Presidente have Adult channels or do you need to buy via Pay-per-view? |

I just came back from staying at Presidente Rm 502, weak and intermittant wireless at best, slow down loads, no ability to use my web cam. The previous 2 trips was in Rm 409 and it was worse almost completely unusable. Was only able to get e-mail at dial up speeds, even then it kept dropping of line. I have never seen a signal stronger than weak to very weak any where in the building in 8 stays in the last year. Had the same problem at SL in the new wing the one time I have been able to get a room there. I connected and worked great in the bar and Atrium but not in the room. In my suite at ZB last week had excellent signal strenght and downloads almost as fast as my home network. |
