I stopped at the White House a couple weeks ago. They indeed had some nice bikes that they rent. Definitely worth checking into. MG ![]() |

Those Harleys aint cheap though. They charge a hefty upfront cash deposit against any damage to those bikes. And last I knew, you had to go with a group/guide kind of thing. Not the free wheeling Harley ride I would want. I know a shop downtown San Jose that will rent lower end used road AND trail bikes at a much cheaper rate. PM me if you are interested in the contact for that. Having had a nice bike in San Jose, I will also add the warning that only expert riders should ride in Costa Rica. Between traffic risks and road holes than can swallow a horse...it is risky business. |

Guys, I have ridden bikes since 1969 and prefer cruisers in the states. But, in CR, I'd really recommend renting a very nimble bike of about 250 CC's with panniers for your gear. This will work better on hairpin roads and to aid in spontaneous pothole avoidance. Costs less too. Most speeds in CR are 40 mph or less except for the Pan American highway, which is only 55 mph or so anyway. |

I probbaly would have trouble finding a V8 Boss Hoss in CR to rent. A little to big for the roads I guess ![]() |

There at least one and possibly more Harley clubs in CR. You frequently see a group of 20 or more riding on Sunday morning. Evidently they are not overly concerned with riding a large bike on CR roads. Naturally, given the possibilities of very large potholes, a very heavy dose of good sense and caution should be observed. If you like to ride recklessly and perhaps after a few beers please PM me so I can give you the information on how to list me a your beneficiary on your life insurance policy ![]() |

I am a life long rider with over 100,000 road miles in the US and Canada. I will not ride here due to the road conditions and reckless Tico drivers. BKTUNA I am never going back |

Just rented a bike from Wild Rider and had a good time. They have 250s like El Viejo recommended. I didn't have any bad experience with the traffic, outside of San Jose the situation seems to be a bit calmer. I avoided riding on Friday and Saturday nights to avoid any drunk drivers. I saw too many people here in the local bars leaving, after hours of heavy drinking, in their own vehicle. ![]() It seems like ticos are into motorcycles, at almost every soda somebody asked me about the bike. |
