Heard from a neighbor that it was shown on Tico TV. Rounded up a bunch of chicas. He says that on TV they said the girls were mostly from Panama, Nicaragua and Dominican Republic, no mention of Colombians. |

They do those raids every so often. They raided HDR Fri after Thanksgiving, when I was there. |

crap. My nicaraguan amor hasn't responded to my emails and she's usually pretty prompt. Maybe she's been deported. If so I'm guessing she can come back to CR at some point. She had said before that she and her family been in CR for 15 years. I don't know much about her situation beyond that. Sigh.... |

I just got back the other day, I was at the Morazon getting some when it happened.. It was not pretty. Girls were talking about it the rest of the weekend. They couldn't have busted everyone because I hooked up with a girl named Mary from El Salvador on Sat - She is a freakin wild woman and screams like an animal. By the way... I forget where I read it, but, Hotel Morazon in suites 501 or 502 is awesome for the price! $80. $3 for the lock box key and NO CHICA FEES!! For those that do not know, they charge c5,000 at HDR. Morazon is very smoky downstairs, but room 502 was perfect. It had a big bed and seemed new. It had a jetted tub with a shower and all seemed fairly new. Definately reserve this room.. |

Many chicas working the DR who are say from Colombia are working the DR legally. They have fake marriages to ticos and get all the papers necessary to legally work in CR. Just because a chica is not a tica doesn't mean she is going to be loaded up and sent back home. My amiga from Colombia, Angie, told me all about the scheme that she participates in so she doesn't have any problems with immigration. Berk...... |

How often do these raids happen? I was there during Thanksgiving and they did a raid. I was there Super Bowl weekend and they did a raid. How much trouble do they give Gringos when they do a raid at the HDR? |

Didn't a few gringos get hauled away in Jacos' last raid? And then there's the famous story of Easy getting jailed with the illegal chicas from the BM one night.  Always a good idea to carry a copy of your passport and proof of date of entry into the country on you.

More than a good idea it is a legal requirement to have your passport or a copy of the info page and entry stamp page with you at all times. If you are stopped by the Immigration police, during a raid or at any time, and you do not have your documents you will most likely be hauled off to jail until they can verify your legal status. |

I was in HDR when the raid happened last week. They came by my table 3 times to check my little Colombiana's ID. The next day two different ticas were telling me about what they saw on TV the night before and how funny they thought it was watching their competition get carted off. I think they got about 20 girls that night. |
