I don't know who fired the first salvo but it looks like AA has discounted base fares to about $268 from Continental hubs and that CO has done the same with American hubs. Total price with taxes/fees/surcharges is less than $350 Round Trip. These fare have been available for at least 2 days now.

I just checked AA for friends who are coming down from Boston Feb 28th to March 5th. The fare was $662. Am I doing something wrong?

Boston is not a Continental nor an American Hub and the sale is not going on there. The sale is still on in the cities I mentioned in the subject line but availability is dwindling.

Continental was $270 before taxes Thurs and friday DFW-SJO and Sunday is up to $360. Is is very welcome to see Co drop prices like this. It hasn't happened since 2005

I fly out of EWR (Newark, NJ) and looks like there is no sale going on. Actually I paid little over $600 for my ticket for trip next month and if I waited until now...the same ticket is about $750.

Well it may look that way to you, but I just checked again and the sale is definately on.

Well I just checked a few dates next month, some had availability for $360 R/T all-in, others were sold out at that fare. Availability will vary but the sale goes to at least November. If you plan on returning this year and don't mind flying AA I'd keep looking if I were you.

Just checked same dates as I am going next month and price was $650 or so for AA. Plus AA does not fly direct to CR. I only found that Continental flies direct from EWR to CR. I am not thrilled about flying, so direct flight would be the only option for me...even if it cost more.

I booked a quickie weekend for spring break from LA. Funcky dates, but the fare was $350 r/t before taxes through Orbit travel.
