Hotel California or Costa Verde, Manuel Antonio

Post subject:  Hotel California or Costa Verde, Manuel Antonio
Looking for some advice on where to stay between these two facilities. Both have villas with 2 bedrooms, one of my requirements. If there are other facilities you would recommend more, please do not hesitate, I am attempting to stay at 200 or less per night.

I could use some insight on beach front hotels vs hotels in the mountains overlooking the ocean. There appear to be more hotels up the mountain then oceanside. Is there a specific reason for this or a recommendation on either. thanks

I stayed at Hotel California several years ago. Price wasn't bad and it was a fairly nice place. The rooms, both walls and ceiling, were wood paneled....smelled like cedar :) .

One of the best parts about staying there was that every morning we would sit on our 2nd floor rear deck and watch the Capucinno [sp?] monkeys playing in the trees. They would come to within several feet of us. I saw more monkeys during that hotel stay, than I did on two national park tours combined :) .

They also have a very nice swimming pool there :).

Also, a very good breakfast buffet :) .

I suggest you do a search on this website for further info on Hotel California. It seems to me, that several years ago, someone did a lengthy report on it.
