Post subject:  business or pleasure
When you fill out the visa paperwork to get into CR, has anyone ever given "business" ( vs. tourist ) as reason for going ? Say I was planning on claiming my visit as a business trip for tax purposes...would this have anything to do with it? Will you get any significant hassles by claiming you are going to CR on business?

I've only done it once, and haven't done it since.

About 8 or 10 trips ago, I decided to check off "business" as my reason for travel (it actually was one of the reasons). I was flying directly into Daniel Obuber Airport in Liberia (Guanacaste). When I got to the customs agent, they looked at my form and then looked at me and my carry-on (briefcase w/laptop). Then I got the 3rd degree......what type of business.....how long have I been in business.....how many employees.....blah, blah, blah.

Never again. Just mark off "tourism". Much easier....! :wink:

I always fill out business, since that is the main purpose of my trip :wink: I've never been questioned, 12 trips so far.
