Post subject: | Copy of Passport Stamp |
Hey guys, Planning a trip Dec 12-19. I'm quite sure that somewhere on this site I read info on where to get a photo copy of my passport and stamp somewhere in the airport. I've searched several times and damned if I can find that information. Can anyone out there help me with this? Thanks. |

There is no place at the airport to make a photo copy before you get to Immigration. As previously posted if you bring a photo copy with you most Immigration officers will stamp that photo copy with an entrance stamp. In San Jose just west of the Presidente there is a copy shop that will photo copy your info page and entrance stamp page, reduce them to credit card size, laminate it in plastic. Much easier to carry around and much less chance of getting ripped or faded. |

Juliofrippo: Irish Drifter's suggestion is the way to go. It just takes minutes and very inexpensive. I really do not remember but think it was something like 600c. It will not be up for 24 hours but I put a photograph of the shop he mentioned in the general photograph section. Lee |

When I arrived at The Presidente I asked the guy at the front desk to make a copy of my passport. I tipped him $2 and it was that easy. |

I always do that too, and include my driver's license as well. The sheet of paper can be used to conceal cash needed plus a very small reserve, and the remainder can then remain in the room-safe with the wallet/real-passport. FAR safer in a strange land...I also like to copy the little tourist visa they give you. Gods, I can't wait to arrive!!! |
