I am a newbie looking to take that long awaited trip to Costa Rica. Febuary is the time frame. By the way, this site is the reason I'm going (love you all). I need to book a fairly quiet room in the heart of San Jose. I'm bringing a wingman along and we thought about a suite with two bed rooms. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Also, which casino has the best action for Texas Holdem?? USE IT OR LOOSE IT!!! |

Zona Blue's new rooms upstairs look pretty sweet. They have 2 rooms each, perfect for you and a wingman. The suite is around $260/night for 2 people (~$130 each) but you get $20 sessions during their business hours 10am-9pm, saving $22. If you do 2 sessions per day @ $20, you save $44, so your room ends up costing about $86/day which is similar to what SL and Prez charge for that type of room. The only regular cash game that I have ever played is at Casino Paradiso in Amon Plaza. It is a $1/2 NL game with a $50-200 buy-in. Game starts at 4pm daily, up to 1-2am or until the table breaks up. It's a fast game with good action. You can make good money is you play smart and get some cards. If you're looking for a bigger game, Fiesta Casino near the airport can cater to those needs. It is way over my head though, so I've never gone. I come to CR for other reasons than to wager thousands at a poker table. ![]() They also hold tourney's at Paradiso. The Radison has tourney's as well. Never played there either so can't comment. Email Russ at Casino Paradiso for more info: russm321@yahoo.com Have fun! |
