A Los Angeles Sierra Club tour group was at the Presidente last weekend.

Here is their tour summary:

NOVEMBER 17- DECEMBER 2, 2006 COSTA RICA ADVENTURE
O: [Angeles Chapter]
16-day tour of the unknown secrets of Costa Rica from the Pacific to the Caribbean: The towering and fiery power of its volcanoes, the quiet soul of virgin rain forests, raging rivers, cloud forests, and the hypnotic rhythm of pristine beaches, abundant wildlife, and warm and friendly people. Your days free to tour hot springs, volcanoes, river rafting, hiking, caves, rain and cloud forests, butterfly farms, botanical gardens, waterfalls, fishing, swimming, horseback riding, boat trips, snorkeling in coral reefs, dolphins, or just kickback and enjoy the local culture. Our destinations are San Jose, Arenal, Monteverde, Manuel Antonio, Tortuguero, and Cahuita. The leaders/guides are natives/recent travelers to Costa Rica. Our trip fee of $1195 includes up-graded accommodations (dbl. ocup.), private 22-passenger air-conditioned coaches, 13 meals/happy hours, some park/entrance fees, guides, misc. Discounted group airfare offered.

Nice enough folks, mostly couples.

I was at the Prez for my last three nights of my Thanksgiving period trip, and saw them depart on Monday morning while I was waiting to be picked up for my Poas-La Paz-Rio Sarapiqui trip. They were loading up the buses, putting their luggage in garbage bags.
