There is a excellent seafood restaurant near Flamingo called Happy Snapper. It's located in Brasilito, about 10 minutes from Flamingo. I've stayed in Flamingo Marina Resort twice now with my girl in the Sportsmen Suite. It's a little pricey at $139-169/night depending on season, but having a jacuzzi in your room is cool. I would advise you bring a chica from San Jose, or you may be very lonely. In Flamingo, there are very few chicas around and they are 5's and 6's, at best. I don't know first hand, but I heard that the asking price in May was $300/hr because there are few girls working and more guys looking. |

Thanks Orange. I've heard the beaches are great and the sightseeing cool. Maybe this wil be my transition back to the states from a weekend in SJO |

I recently found out that one of my employees' uncle owns the Flamingo Beach Resort. I didn't ask but maybe I can get him to hook me up with a nice discount. http://www.resortflamingobeach.com/ Mucho Gusto has a business in the hotel and can get you a discount there as well. Also, if you are interested in any kind of day trip (fishing, canopy, etc), he can hook you up with that too. |

I have camped at both the Flamingo Marina and the Diria, both about the same price range if it is in your budget you are in paradise. I looked at Flamingo Beach – way cool I remember thinking I would like to try it on a short trip splurge, it is not cheap either. If your budget is under cein/noche just ask there are tons of options, but for a couple nights why not live it up and be more than comfortable. Why I posted is: I usually do the transition the other way around. I mean SJO at the beginning and end of trips to the beach – I don’t know where you are from but a lot of the US is less than warm right now (I am from Seattle colder than crap in this moment). Flamingo/Tamarindo is fairly warm now and San Jose is tepid. SJ has always been my ‘decompression chamber’ when transient between home, beaches of CR and home, never a big shock for me. Just something to think about if you are from Alaska or Seattle or Denver – you might arrive home and the temp is 50 degrees or more, less… I touch down in Houston first and that is usually about like SJ but more at sea level that I am used to. If you are fortunate? enough to be from Florida or the Gulf about the same I guess, now. Bring sunscreen If you are lucky the sun is about ready to come out in force and will get you by surprise. Have a great trip! |

Orange, Thanks for the plug. Although my new company (in Flamingo) is up and running, I have not ironed out all of the details with Admin1 (or my business partner) yet, for "official" CRT discounts, so I am not at liberty to promote my new company on the CRT forum yet. But I should have everything in place within the next couple months. Stay tuned... But, for the time being, if any members are interested in spending some time in Flamingo, I can "unofficially" get you a 10% discount on lodging at the Flamingo Beach Resort Hotel ( www.resortflamingobeach ), or a 20% discount at the Flamingo Marina Hotel ( www.flamingomarina.com ). Just PM me for details and new company website address. Respectfully, MG ![]() |
