I might regret this post once I'm done, you'll see why, but in all fairness to Eddy and ZB, I have to make the posting...

If you read no further than this paragraph, you'll understand.... I will never go to Costa Rica and not stay at ZB again. If I can't stay at ZB, then I am not going. It's as simple as that.

The rooms at ZB were well apportioned, I had my own sauna, my own steam room. The room was cleaned as often as I wanted, which during my trip was 2 or 3 times in a day. The hotel was quiet as death at night, which for me is wonderful when I want to sleep.

I had the run of the place at night, the rooms were well lit, and I felt extremely comfortable. We had wireless internet that only went down once for a brief time, with a great signal, as the router was right outside the room.

The TV was great, and during the day you could barely hear the cigar bar's music, and we were right above it.

Those reasons alone would justify staying at this hotel...

HOWEVER... This isn't any ordinary hotel, now is it? There is simply nothing that compares to having 10-20 of the nicest ticas downstairs, all willing and able to make your stay the most comfortable/memorable possible...

You can bring back ticas from HDR after hours, but the next time I'm in CR, I think I'm going to go out to eat when ZB closes, come back to the hotel, and go to sleep, to start fresh when they open at 9am!

Eddie and the staff at ZB, all of them really - from bartender to night watchman, treated us AMAZINGLY well, and took care of our every need. Even to the point of having lunch delivered to me on my last day, so I could have one last session, and eat my lunch on the way to the airport.

As far as the Trannys go - they were actually quite friendly, they weren't threatening in the least of course there were 2 of us at 6'2 and 6'4 both at well over 240 pounds, but still. Yes they are right near ZB, but if that stuff bothers you, have someone call you a cab - even at 5am we never had to wait more than 4-5 minutes.

Eddie, if I am planning a trip to CR, and you're booked up, I'd be willing to stay in a session room, just to be at your hotel! The amenities of the hotel are worthwhile, and the gusto with which the girls do their work, I have never seen before.

Another key point in ZB's favour - I never worried about my stuff, it didn't matter who was in my room, it was safe (except for gum - I must have gone through 5 packs in 2 days - they always asked first, but who can say no, and why would I?)

For those of you who want a taste of Tico cuisine, there is an AWESOME restaurant net door, with some of the best local food I had in CR.

ZB is only about a 10 - 15 minute walk to HDR, 3 min walk to NF, and 5-10 min walk to the Sportsman's Lodge - which has a KILLER Penthouse, which I would GLADLY give up for ZB, having stayed at both.

I'll try to remember to post a trip report later, but sufficed to say, I'll be back in CR, IF ZB has open rooms, this year.

Can someone give me ZB's phone number? I just missed my flight back to Houston and would like to spend the night in one of the new rooms at Eddie's place if one is available. Actually a perfect scenario considering I have to head to the airport at 5:30 in the morning so I can just enjoy some time with a couple of the ZB ladies and then hit the sack early tonight.

sorry TJ, I don't have their number with me,but you could just take a cab there, and ask Eddie...

If the space is available, I'm sure he'd accomodate... If not, Sportsman's is only a short walk away, same with several others...

Does anyone have the pricing structure for the Hotel Rooms at Zona Blue? I know if you stay there it's $20/hour per chica and breakfast is included at the Clarion. I checked their website and I didn't see any rates for the 4 suites:

1. Romeo and Juliett Suite.
2. The Bolivar Suite.
3. The Cohiba Suite.
4. The Monte Cristo Suite.

If anyone has any info on the prices for those rooms, I would greatly appreciate it.

Regards,
Broadway
