Just returned from 4 nights at Hotel M. Excellent all around. The
management operates a first-class establishment. Beautiful
accomdations. Friendly and attentive staff. If you are looking for luxury
and quality, Hotel M is near perfect. If you are happy staying at the
Del Rey, then this may not be your scene. However, if you value a bit
of class and privacy, then check it out. Besides, you can always venture
out for a bit of trolling in all the usual places.

Also, regarding the other thread on their responsiveness to emails, I've
had numerous email exchanges with them over the last month to plan
my trip. Every email I sent them was answered promptly, personally,
and professionally (and they had no idea who I was at that time).

Of course, this is just one data point -- but I give them an A+. Can't
wait to get back there again.

That's an interesting question.

knows how to get the party spirit going. The place is absolutely stunning,
and the women working there are all beautiful and have really pleasent personalties. I see the vision of what they want to do with the place, and

As for tica fees, I only went for the Hotel M girls when I was there and they are not cheap, but they were nice, and I did notice one preparing some cash on the way out as if she was paying a cut to somebody.

One thing to watch out for is their billing system is often down. I waited
30 minutes for my bill upon check out which I paid, and then got called a couple of days later from them saying that I still had an outstanding balance. I hope they realize that this is rather poor class. Normally if an establishment forgets to bill you for something, they let it go -- not Hotel M. I think they need to learn more about how to run the hotel business. I would suggest that they hire an experienced management team.

OK, so we have two guys touting how great Hotel M and the ladies who work there are, BUT, no one wants to mention the costs.

Terminology like "excellent", "first class", "stunning" and "beautiful" are nice to hear but a comment like "they are not cheap" may be more telling.

Is this a case of "If you have to ask the price, you can't afford it?"

Ok, so a buddy of mine "tested the goods" at the hotel M. This is the pricing structure:

$150 an hour.

Now, let me say that he said these honeys are pretty fuckin' fantastically hot, according to him. Also, it should be noted that these honeys are supposedly not available anywhere else (i.e., they won't be found strutting their stuff at the Del Rey or Sportsmans... they are supposedly professionals with daytime jobs who just happen to be sportbanging at the M for some side cash to make ends meet).

Also, he told me of the hotel having a lady in sort of a "mamasan" capacity managing the girls that work at the M, a la Isabella at ZB. Now I don't know if this is true, since this joker's spanish is pretty shitty, but one of the reasons the cost of a session is so high is because the mamasan gets a $50 cut per session. I don't know if this is fact or fiction, nor am I trying to discuss if this is wrong or right, I'm just saying that that's what I heard.

For the record, he said the session was pretty damn good. I'll get the name and description of the kitten he chose for all you sick degenerate bastards as soon as I can. My friend works overseas and is a little hard to reach sometimes.

Anyways, that's what I heard... anyone on the board know FIRST HAND?

I have first hand experience and can tell you that it is $150 and the girls were higher quality than I saw anywhere else. It did appear that one girl was preparing a $50 cut for somebody at the end of our session.

any more details you'd like to know?

Yes, I was asking about the costs of the hotel as well as the ladies. From what I've seen on their website the prices don't reflect anything special for the location. As Jmac said, this isn't Vegas. The "view" doesn't amount to anything so I'm trying to get a handle on just what you're paying for.

When I read a review I expect less hyperbole and fluff and more info and substance. So far we've heard the it's an excellent hotel except for the email problem (which I believe was self-imposed by the poster) and there might be billing questions. I would like to hear something positive to balance these things out to justify the price.

Of course we could save a lot of time if the reports included this information along with the reviews. That was my original point.

Just a suggestion.

Most importantly... do you have to have a room booked at Hotel M to session with a chica? Do they have rooms available for an hour? If so, how much?

Also, if i remember correctly you have to fill out an application to become a member or something like that. Is it a private hotel?

Since the CRT poker game is being held there on Thursday I guess CRT members are welcomed there.

What are we to expect upon arrival for the poker game. I don't play poker but want to stop by and say and have a drink or two or three or four.....

How is it layed out in the lobby? Does it have a bar?

These are questions I need answers to...

Here are my dos colones about Hotel M. First, let me say that I am not a frequent poster here but I have had many trips to CR and lived in Thailand, Philippines, Korea and several other popular destinations. I am also just a few years short of my first opportunity at Social Security – and I will take it. I am not a babe in the woods but I continue to seek knowledge from others – some is useful and some is not but I appreciate it all.

I spent 3 great nights at Hotel M recently and will try to answer some of the questions posed here. Also anytime anyone discusses price on anything from beer to women to hotels it is a personal decision – my comments are not intended to draw fire or insult anyone. There are those on this board that take a bus from the airport to the Morazon to those that stay at the White House and travel by limo or helo – all are right as long as they are paying - it's their dime and their call.

Hotel M is a private club. Guests (staying there) are automatically members. No one other than members and guests can get in. The only exception is pre-screened ladies and their female friends. It is possible for those not staying there to be members. There is supposed to be a daily membership and local resident's membership. The daily membership had not been totally determined as of my stay there but it should be quite reasonable - $10-$20 per day and may include a drink. I don't know of a membership application except for maybe local residents.

Guests of the hotel can bring as back ladies as they wish with no "chica fee". As many ladies as one can handle for hotel guests. One room even has a "dancer's pole" available. Daily members can certainly meet ladies at the hotel and go wherever they desire – dinner, dancing, another hotel or where ever. The ladies are not employees of the hotel and are free to do as they please. Yes, daily members can also check in to the hotel if they desire but at the normal hotel rate per night assuming availability.

I have stayed at DR, SL, Holiday Inn, Marriott (SJ and Los Suenos), Amon and a few others and all are good in their own way but Hotel M is where I will hang my hat on future trips. I basically comes down to quality and service – rooms, bar, employees, ladies and the entire package. It is not MGM in Vegas (or other hotels there) and I'm very glad of that – I lived in Vegas and have stayed there. In Vegas unless one is a "whale" service is sparse to none – IMHO. I'm not a whale but service is important to me – I got that at Hotel M. Hotel M has a sports book and poker table – sorry I don't gamble (in the traditional sense) so I can't discuss that aspect of it.

Rooms – only 10 total and all have either king or queen beds, large Sony LCD TV (40" or 32") with as many channels as one can want (including some adult channels on request). Most rooms have 2 person Jacuzzis – all have personal safes, complimentary wireless Internet, mini-bar and refrig, A/C, free local calls and reasonable US calls (about .20 cents USD per minute). Quality bedding is desirable for me and that requirement is met at Hotel M. They also have a CRT VIP discount of 10% on room only. Prices vary from $150 to $250 before the CRT discount. The Master is the only room at $250 – it is quite large and, in addition to the things mentioned above, it has it's own private large balcony suitable for entertaining. I had room service there one afternoon with a lady friend and it was very nice – secluded, quiet and romantic.

Ladies – wow! Employees are hot and "off the menu" but very friendly, helpful and lots of fun. Other ladies (visitors that I saw and met) were equally hot and available. Sorry I didn't partake as I had a full "dance card' of female friends visiting. My visitors were welcomed and treated with dignity and respect, as I would have expected. I did talk with a few ladies at the bar and they we generally intelligent, friendly and not one grabbed my ass or called me "papi" or "mi amor". Some won't but I appreciated that. I did get a few mobile numbers and emails so I hope to be able to speak in more depths about this later. I am booked again later this year. I do understand the going rate is in the $150 range but no clock-watchers. I am not aware of any split in the fee but I cannot confirm or deny that.

There is a dress code but nothing one wouldn't expect at a membership club. It is my understanding that your basic basketball uniform is out. Every guy I saw had slacks, polo type or collared shirts and shoes – reasonable IMHO.

Food – not fine dining but excellent meals at a very reasonable price. It is my understanding that they don't want to be a top restaurant – there are many in SJ – they just want a good quality meal for their members and guests. When I was there everything on the breakfast menu was about $5 (plus $1 for side dishes), lunch about $7 and dinner about $7 per entrée. The food was excellent and portions plentiful. Another CRT member and I had dinner one night with our "dates" and it was a very nice evening with great food, service and atmosphere.

Bar – excellent choice from beer to single malt scotch. Each category (vodka, scotch and etc) has premium but even $2 USD a shot available. There are about 3-4 Sony large screen TVs in the bar with sports, news or whatever.

As I saw it, the motto of Hotel M should be, "the answer is yes and now what's the question?"

By the way, for those wanting to take Spanish classes, the Costa Rica Language Academy is almost directly across the street. I've taken classes there and highly recommend them.

My suggestion is if you are in town then stop by for a tour. I did and I was welcomed with open arms (so to speak). As I've said, SJ has something for everyone and none is right or wrong. I'm happy there is a Morazon and happy there is a Hotel M. I'm not trying to convert the Morazon fellows to Hotel M and I respectfully ask that they don't try to convert me. Let's all be friends and have fun in our own way. I hope this has answered some of your questions and is not viewed as fluff.

Regards to all - Woozo

Woozo,
Thanks for taking the time to write up that comprehensive review.
Now we'll see on poker night if Hotel M lives up to those lofty heights.

Just a followup: I communicated to them my distaste about the billing process (that I didn't feel like waiting another half hour to pay the bill), and as a result, they dropped the charge. It sounds like they are learning quickly. I wish the them the best of luck in their business, and would reccommend that everyone check them out.
