I could find nothing in my search on this place. Old chica friend has recommended it but I'd like Gringo input if anyone is willing to offer it. At $12 - $14 a night, it's iffy and falls into the "if it sounds too good to be true............" category.

that is the standard rate for Tico style hotels in San Jose.

the ones I've visited are safe, secure and cleaned daily.

all the management I've seen run a tight ship with no nonsense.

there are some even cheaper $4 a night joints I've checked out, but they are a little suspect.

I can't recall exact location of the hotel you mentioned, but I would not be surprised to find it a safe and inexpensive option.

sounds like it might be in the Barrio Amon area and within walking distance of the Del Rey/KL/SL/Presidente etc...

just take taxis at night, just about everything downtown is less than $2 for a taxi ride.

She says it is within two blocks of Central and not far from El Presidente. I've walked around alot in my three trips there but just can't place it. Thanks for your input; it is good to know.
