I have heard on the board about the slowness in the gulch...but now I know for a fact...I just got an e-mail from the Del Rey, and they have discounted their room rates for the month of August! I have never heard of them doing that! I remember Vegas Bob posting about his discussions with DR owners, they used to joke about too many customers. God Bless you guys that can swallow the $600 MIA to SJO airfare, it seems to be inelastic demand (ie demand stays the same regardless of price). Congrats on the room upgrades, you're gonna have the chicas all to yourselves. |

February: Don't feel bad: I went to bed last night thinking that at least for five nights of my stay I had a master suite. Upon returning home today and reading my e-mail I find that the Del Rey is now telling me sorry but a master suite is not available. If this was a plane ticket I would say I just got bombed ( that would be bumped sory). So I guess I'll be doing my entertaining in a deluxe. Lee |

The Del Rey had very few guys there today. I guess the girls are getting tired and staying home. Not as much talent as there was 3 weeks ago when I was here. I popped my head into the SL around 2 and there wasn't a single tourist to be seen. Probably at ZB. If they are still trying to hold to their prices, perhaps it's time for someone with a better Spanish vocabulary to explain the concept of supply and demand to them. |

Even worse today. Not many tourists in the Del Rey and the daytime quality is definitely down from a few weeks ago. |

So, do you vets/resident members find the last weeks of July and early to mid weeks of August traditionaly slow for number of tourist mongers? |

Bilko and I did a walk through the BM at 11:30-12:00 last night and the place was JAMMED with chicas and gringos. The same at Key Largo (fewer gringos than ticos), and the SL was packed and rocking at 7:30pm with three chicas stripping on the bar at 8:00pm. Bill had a BIG SMILE on his face. |

El Lamero: Thank you for the positive response. With only seven days to go before my arrival I was beginning to think I would have to buy a couple of books just have something to do while there. Lee |
