I will be going to Manuel Antonio in October for a couple nights. I think I just want to take a cub/van. I have heard the rates are anywhere from $40 to $125 each way (Some say $10 per hour). Anyone have any personal experience with a good driver? Does anyone know Cesar Villalobos? I have his card but no e-mail.... Thanks! |

I would say there is no way in hell anyone would take you from San Jose to MA for $40. But, YMMV. $10/hr might be correct. But, will the driver be waiting for you? Will you ride back with him? Will you buy his food? Will you pay for a cabina for him if he stays over night? Lots of things to negotiate. dapanz1 |

An option would be taking a transfer shuttle van http://www.interbusonline.com/ $29 http://www.graylinecostarica.com/ $27 http://www.easyridecr.com/ $28 |

Flying there is another option: http://www.flysansa.com/ http://www.natureair.com/ There is a third air service but cannot recall it. Anyway you can be there by air in plus or minus 20 minutes flying time and get a shuttle to Quepos/Manuel Antonio for around $5...they will drop you right at your hotel. |

The budget potion which is just about as fast is the local express bus for about $7 to $8 I would guess as it has been a while since I went. You catch the bus at Coca cola bus terminal.rbc100 |

Sluthog is correct. I took the Sansa flight from MA/Quepos to SJO . . . unless you want to see the country side take the flight. You could always ride out there to see the countryside then fly back. In case you need extra photos for all the people back home ![]() I know a guy named Leo...who has a Tourismo...He's a great guy and reasonable on prices. . .but I can't find his info this minute. . .if anyone needs the info 'in a timely manner' PM me and that will help me to remember to look for it at work ![]() |

A guy I've used before just got his Ford van out of customs. It comfortably holds 6 people and he charges $100 per day, period. No expenses. And he knows the country backwards and forwards and is bilingual. IT's in very good shape, in fact the AC almost froze me the other day. |
